University Graduates

Do many university students suffer under the delusion that college is harder than the real world?

I have noticed that many students that I go to school with act like once you graduate your life gets easier.

1. Are they high/drunk when they say this? Pretty sure that if you aren't smart enough to realize that all the fun ends the second college does you shouldn't be in college. I'm sure there are people that do suffer this delusion, but they are the people that won't go far in life.

3. i get that impression also, but a lot of them think that college life is LIFE. nothing could get more difficult than an 8am lecture and mid terms. so therefore, working a nine to five job must be easier than going to college. the disillusion will go away quickly enough... especially in this economy. happy studies!
4. I think you're right. I once heard a great story about two women who were co-workers, one had been out of college for a little while, the other was just finishing high school. The younger made a comment to the effect that she was looking forward to college and really being an adult; the older girl responded (I'm paraphrasing), "You have no clue - college is the 'last sandbox'."
5. I think most college kids simply don't know how life is beyond college. They think that because they are essentially adults right now, they are still going to be drinking/living it up all the time even after graduation. I don't think most of them think that their life will be easier, I just don't think that they realize that the "real world" can be such a bi*ch. It's not like once you graduate you are a slave to life and want to kill yourself. There's still room for fun; just not nearly as much as there is in college. College is the first time kids begin to live on their own and I think that they believe that when they graduate, it will be the same thing except a job will replace school.
6. I would have thought it to be the other way wround. Life is just fun and games and partying now for like 99% of the people at my school, and when they graduate, they'll get a different reality check.
