Recent College Graduate Resume in Social Services Field?
Does anyone have a good resume or resume advice for social services field? I am looking for case manager positions in MRDD, Job and Family Services, Children Services, etc. I graduate in Fall and would like to start sending my resume in the next couple months. Any advice?

- Typically, most resumes start by highlighting the applicant's job experience or education, depending on which one is stronger and more relevant for the job you're applying for. As a student, you may not have a lot of work experience (unless you've had lots of relevant internships), so you'll likely want to start with information on your education. In this section, include your college name, degree title and estimated completion date, as well as the names of any relevant courses you took, your GPA and info on any department awards or related extracurricular activities you took part in. Next, in the work experience section, try to tailor each resume specifically for the job you're applying for by highlighting items from the job posting description. For example, if the position asks for someone who has experience in a particular setting (family services, child services, etc), be sure you feature that on your resume and cover letter. Another thing to consider - most colleges have free career centers that will help you put together your resume or proofread it once it's finished. They're usually really helpful, so it's definitely worth looking into. Good luck with the job search! Ruth
