Is it possible for a university graduate to become a CEO of a company within 5-10 years?

If a university student graduates with Masters Degree or higher, how possible is he/she going to be a CEO of a big company within the shortest time possible? And what positions/processes must he/she go through first?

1. Remember, anything is possible. It help if your family has lots of money too.
2. The fastest way is to start your own business. Otherwise, look for what department the CEOs come up from in the industries you are interested in. For example, if you are VP of Human Resources you would ever be made CEO. Otherwise, it depends on the company. The CEOs track might be through operations, marketing or, less likely accounting. Get old copies of the companies Annual Statements and read the bio's on the Company Executives. Executives don't stay long with one company very long anymore. You don' want to job hop for no reason but to gain experience in another part of an industry you are interested in you should be moving every 5 years. The only reason to stay with the same company is if you know you are on the inside track and have a mentor on the Executive Team.
3. if he or she is SOA or DOA, then he/ shen can be CEO the fastest time possible. SOA - means Son Of Owner DOA - Daughter Of Owner
4. Start your own company. Then you can be the CEO, COO, CFO and all the other titles. Or if your dad owns the company, tell him you want to be the CEO in 5 years, and ask him to start grooming you for the position now.
