What is the most popular social network in China for university students?

I'm trying to find out what the most popular social network for university students could be in China. How many active users does it have? There are a variety of English-language articles on this subject, but most are somewhat out of date, and not all are consistent. I'm also wondering how that most-popular site differs from Facebook. Can people invite their friends? Can they send a single message to a group of friends? Any info would be great. Thanks!
