University Graduates

Could a public University graduate go to graduate at a private school?

I am at Austin Peay State University right now in Tennessee. I'm about to transfer to East Tennessee State University I am a sophomore with a 3.6 gpa. I am a History education major right now, but am considering switching to a poly sci minor. I am thinking about Vanderbilt University for either law school or History graduate school? What are my chances? Oh yeah i might teach social studies for a couple of years before i go on to do the graduate school thing. Would that help?

1. few if any private grad schools are all that picky about where you got your BA as long as it is from an accredited college. I say GO FOR IT!
