Which ethnic group in America has the highest percentage of university graduates among them?
Public Comments
- No idea.
- Asians. In fact, Asian Americans were the only minority ethnic group that had a higher college graduation rate than white students. African Americans, American Indians, and Hispanics trailed these two groups significantly. The gap in graduation rates between American Indians and whites was 22 percentage points. The gaps between whites and African Americans and Hispanics were 21 and 14 percentage points, respectively. EDIT What's with thumbsing down answers that talk about Asians? Can't handle the truth? I'm not Asian and even I know they have higher graduation rates. EDIT You want numbers? Well, here! Courtesy of the US Census bureau. Among races, Asians had the highest proportion of college graduates at 50 percent. About 30 percent of non-Hispanic whites and 17 percent of blacks had a least a bachelor’s degree. In 1993, 24 percent of non-Hispanic whites and 12 percent of blacks were college graduates. I'm one of those 12% therefore I'm smart enough to look things up, ok?
- Asians Americans. I'd bet my life savings without even having to look it up...
- Asians. Whites are not far behind.
- People of middle eastern origin have the highest percentage of university graduates. They also have the lowest rate of incarceration.
