University Graduates

Do Employers look down on university graduates who transferred from a community college?

Will an employer look down on an applicant for doing the first 2 to 3 years at community college and finishing the last 1 to 2 years at university?

  1. You'd be surprised. Some people I know are actually getting more promising job offers by attending community college rather than university. It's a mixed bag really. You have to be able to show any prospective employer that you are attentive and receptive to working. They are looking for 'a good fit', not necessarily a brainy person.
  2. Absolutely not. Community colleges usually supply just the general education classes anyway. You will get your major core classes at the four year school and that is what the employers are looking. for. With the high cost of education today, employers realize that for many of us, me included, a community college is a smart first step. Good Luck!!
