What sales jobs pay over $150k besides medical device sales? I've been doing medical device sales for about 8 years making anywhere from $140k to $220k per year. I'm over it and have completely lost interest in the industry. What's a good position to go after in a different industry that would pay similar to what I'm making now? Software sales? Energy Sales? I really need something more exciting. The entertainment or event business would be great, but I don't really see much money opportunity. It would be great if Apple had b2b sales.
How much do these jobs make: medical sales, vice president, a plastic surgeon, a medical investment analyst? I'm about to apply medical school and am almost done with an MS in BME. I really want to be a doctor, but have always been interested in medical investments also. My parents do not want me to be and never have encouraged me to be a doctor even though I enjoy it and have good grades. I am planning on ignoring there wishes, and pursuing medicine, but am also interested in maybe trying to find a consulting job or working during studies, and maybe medical investing down the line.
What is a good medical sales job to start? I keep finding medical sales jobs that all require two years of previous experience in what else medical sales. But none ever offer ground floor sales jobs. I have plenty of sales experience and I really want to try my hand at being a pharmaceutical rep. Any ideas?
Is medical Sales similar to canvassing or door-to-door sales? -I was wondering if anyone who is in the medical sales job can give an opinion about there job....is it close to that of door to door? In a sense they seem like similar jobs. Is a medical salesmen just a PROMOTED Canvasser who deals with physicians and professionals whereas a Canvasser deals with average every day folks.
Where can I find the best medical sales job listings? I really want to get into medical device sales.? I've been searching for a medical device sales job for a few months and am frustrated with all of the medical device sales job posting sites. 99% of them seem like they are developed by actual medical sales representatives trying their hardest to make a quick buck on the side. Which sites are legit companies who run the site full time and will actually get me a job and also be around in 5 years? Most of them charge candidates to use their site which is bogus most of the time. I don't mind paying for a website membership since they are doing all the marketing to get the jobs on there, but I don't want to give it to John Smith, a medical rep who decided to fork out a bunch of cash to put their site on google lisings. It's hard to filter out the garbage sites. Please help so I can stop wasting my time and make land a job!
What is the job of a Medical Sales Rep like? I'm thinking about applying for a job as a medical sales rep. Just wondering if it's a good career to get in to and if you or any of your friends work in this line, do you like your job? : )

Pharma Sales/ Medical Sales or stay in current Industry?? I am currently working for one of the Big 3 Small Parcel Companies (UPS/ Fed-ex/ DHL) in outside Field Sales. I made about 100K last year which is great, but I doubt I will make that much in 2008. I have heard a lot about pharma and medical sales. A lot of people seem to think that as far as sales goes, pharma and medical is the best sales job you can have. I am a 32 -year old male, and I am actually not really enjoying my current position... I am an outgoing/ fun person who everyone likes, and I now have a great resume to explore other options. What are pharma and medical sales jobs all about? What are your thoughts about transitioning out of Transportation into pharma or Medical...? I am looking to make 100K or more, meet some great people, work hard, and also have some fun while doing it.
Sales and Medical Job anyone? Is there anyone out there with a job in medical sales. how is the job market? Do you like what you do? Why? What is your favorite part? What would you change about it if you could? I will now boldly ask, how much do you make an average year?
Does anyone know of any good marketing/sales jobs? I'm in search of a good Marketing/Sales/PR job. I'm based out of Houston, Texas and have 9 years sales/marketing experience in majority medical sales, but it has been insanely slow trying to get another job. Does anyone have any advice, options etc.. I have great experience in developing marketing materials as well.. (brochures, flyers, etc.) Any advice is appreciated...
How to become a medical sales rep? I graduated with a B.S. degree in bioinformatics from a good school and I've always been skilled with sales, but I have no clue how to enter the field. Most of the jobs always say that you need 1-2 years experience. How do I get experience when all the jobs require experience!? I just assumed medical sales rep would be the closest related to bioinformatic, but would something else possibly be more closely related to my field?
can i be a medical sales rep with a BA in liberal studies? I know a science degree is preferred, but all job postings for medical/pharmaceutical sales reps just say they require a BA. Again, mine is in liberal studies with a concentration in communications. I did take basic physics, chemistry, biology etc. maybe i could start entry level?
How do I get into pharmaceutical/medical sales with little sales experience? I will be completing my MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Management at the end of the this year. I am looking for my first professional job, preferably in pharmaceutical/medical sales/management, but not limited to this arena in order to create a strong foundation for my leadership skills and excitement for the industry.
How to break into pharmaceutical/medical sales? I am looking into the medical field specifically in sales. I was wondering if anyone knows how to break into this industry? I know for a pharmaceutical sales you have to have a BA. Is there anyway to break into the industry? Most jobs require that you have prior experience, where do you gain it?
What is a great job for a former medical device sales representative? I've been doing medical device sales for about 8 years making anywhere from $140k to $220k per year. I'm over it and have completely lost interest in the industry. What's a good position to go after in a different industry that would pay similar to what I'm making now? Software sales? Energy Sales? I really need something more exciting.
Any tips for getting a job in pharmaceutical sales/Medical Device Sale, and which companies should I apply to? I am a recent college graduate with a Business Administration Degree with an emphasis in Marketing. I am looking to get a pharmaceutical or medical device sales job in the Lexington, KY/Cincinnati, OH or surrounding areas. I was hoping to get some tips from someone in the business, and hopefully make a contact or two. I have a good resume and cover letter-or as good as you can have fresh out of college-but would like someone to point me in the right direction. Also, I wouldn't mind suggestions for companies to apply to. Some that I have applies to already are Pfizer, Sanofi Aventis, Stryker.

How do I apply for a Medical Rep Job? I am an Assistant Branch Manager at a bank and I have been thinking of a career change. I like to be in the medical sales field. What is a career as a Medical Sales Rep like? I recently graduated from college and I'm thinking about going into Pharmaceutical/Medical sales. Just wondering what a typical day of work is like and if you or someone you know is in this profession, do you enjoy your job? : )
What other jobs in sales pay as much as high end medical? My wife has worked as a sales rep for some of the top fortune 500 medical companies in the world. She is as beautiful as she is a great sales person and she is looking to make a change. She would like to stay in medical but if there are other opportunities, she is open to learning more. The company she is with is a good company but they have her traveling to another sate every day, she is missing our kids growing up, and I miss her a great deal. It is really taking a toll on the family, but we need the money. She is in the $220,000 range, expenses are company paid, company car, credit card, benefits etc... In this economy some may think this is crazy to want to change, but family is important also. If you have advice or know of an opportunity please chime in. We live in the suburbs of St. Louis Missouri and would like to stay unless the opportunity is too good to pass up. Thanks for your comments. Mr. Ed, thank you, but I think your right, there is the trade that one has to make. Ms. Lainey, I understand that some don't make that kind of money, and for those who don't I am sure they are good people, but I don't think this question is for you seeing that you are below that range in income. I am looking to here from those who have short money as yourself. All over the country contrary to what the news is telling us, there are plenty of those who have not been affected by this down turn, so using the economy for an excuse for not making money is weak. We saw this coming and if you did not prepare then the weak will fail. Many companies now are getting rid of dead weight with the economy as an excuse. For those who are hiring and looking to ad value to your company with strong players then please reply to my question. Thanks!
Anyone here work in pharmaceutical or medical equipment sales? I currently work as a Territory Manager for a Big Tobacco company, but I am unhappy with my job and the way the company does business. I am very interested in a career in pharmaceutical or medical equipment sales. Can you tell me how much you enjoy your job? How much do you make? Is your company hiring? What is the hiring process like? And once again...is your company hiring?? Please let me know
How can you get a job as a drug or sales rep for medical supplies? I'm a nurse in the operating room and we are always dealing with representatives for different companies (stryker, depuy, etc.) I've heard they make really good money and my husband is still trying to decide what kind of job he wants to look into. How would you go about getting a job like this? What education do you have to have?
My husband had a 2 1/2 hour medical sales interview. It that a good sign? Basically, I'm just curious if anyone out there currently has a medical sales position and if there interview was anything like his. First, the interview was 2 1/2 hours! They had a 12pm appointment cancel and decided to carry on with my husband. That was after 2 hours! They drilled him and roll played to find out his sales experience. He made both people interviewing laugh, and they were impressed with his brag book saying "It was the best they had ever seen" So, I'm just curious.I want any advice that would be helpful or you found to be helpful to your interviewing style. Also, any input on a great interview for him in the future if this isn't the job he takes. Thanks! Greg and DM....you guys are very odd. I guess I should of made myself clear. I would like ADULTS to aswer the question.
How will socialized medicine affect medical equipment sales? Since the good ol USA will be moving towards socialized medicine - how will manufacturers of MRI, XRay, Ultrasound, Mammogram, CT, Medical Software, etc be affected? My bet is that R&D will be virtually cut off because sales will be down to hospitals & clinics costing TONS of people their jobs in Sales, Equipment service, engineering & manufacturing.................... How are jobs created when sales are DOWN. Companies don't hore MORE people when they are losing money. "With the current plans, diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines, ultrasound and other common equipment will likely not be affected much" NOT AFFECTED much? Are you kidding? Have you seen the recent proposed reimbursement rates for diagnostic services? A DEXA Scan (used to diagnose Osteopersis) will be reimbursed about $60. Sixty bucks won't buy any new diagnostic equipment. Reimbursement rates for an MRI study may be cut in half. HALF. How is a hospital going to keep their MRI systems running. They need cryogens, parts, labor, etc.
Legitimate Entry Level Work From Home Medical Transcription Jobs? I am looking for a legitimate entry level work from home medical transcription job that you don't have to pay anything to them in order to work for them. I have no formal training in medical transcription, but I have 3 years experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have been training myself for medical transcription with my fiance's text books and computer software. I have it down now, having transcribed 100s of practice dictations and refreshing my knowledge of medical terminology, spelling, and Anatomy and Physiology. I have post traumatic stress disorder, so I cannot do what I used to do in nursing homes and sales, so I have been studying and practicing transcription for awhile now so I will be able to work from home. I cannot afford to take the certification test (which I could pass easily). Does anybody know any legitimate work from home medical transcription jobs from home? All the ones I have found, I had to pay upfront costs, which I cannot do. Please Help!!!

Do I need a cover letter? I am going to begin applying for pharmaceutical/medical sales jobs over the internet and was wondering if it is recommended to have a cover letter when applying over the internet? Also, what information should be included in a cover letter to a pharmaceutical company?
Which area of medical sales is the best way to go after I earn my degree? Hello, I am 28 years old, in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and back in school to finish my degree. After career & personality tests and much research, I'm seriously leaning towards a sales career in the medical business. I have about a year and a half left of school, and am considering attaining a Bachelors in Business Marketing. I've heard that the majority of successful medical sales reps are young, female, attractive and outgoing. (If that offends anyone, I apologize. It's not my personal opinion, since I obviously have not had any real world experience in the feild. It's the opinions of many of the professionals I've spoken to about my career path.) Yes, I do fall into that category however. How important that is to my questions depends on the person answering. Also, I realize this is a hard business to break into. That you have to know people to get in, but once you're in, you're in. (This pertains to one of my questions later.) My questions are as follows: 1) Out of all of the specfic fields in medical sales (i.e. pharmaceutical sales, laboratory sales, clinical diagnostics sales, DNA sales, medical supplies sales, medical equipment sales, imaging sales, etc.), what is the overall "best", in your opinion, and why? 2) In your opinion, what are the 3 best qualities and the 3 worst qualities of this position? 3) What Bachelors degree do you think would be best for your specific choice? 4) What experience do you have? 5) What type of work can I get into now, that will not only help me to gain business to business sales experience while attaining my degree, but possibly help me to get my foot in the door later (or give me the opportunity to network to help me get in the door later)? 6) Are there any type of certifications or accreditations that I could attain on the side while in school that will benefit my career or help me to land a job? 7) In your opinion, what are the best 2 or 3 companies in the DFW area to work for in your chosen specific area of medical sales? 8) What areas in medical sales are the least likely to be seriously affected by the economy with layoffs, etc. (Which has the best job security?) You'd REALLY help me out if you could answer any or all of my questions. If you are in one of these fields, when answering, it might help if you think about this: "If you could go back, do it all over again with the knowledge you have now, what would you do different? What would you tell your younger, inexperienced self to help you earlier in your career?" Thank you all in advance!! I REALY appreciate your help!!
Medical Representative / Pharma Sales career opportunity in UAE? Hi Community, I have 9+ years sales experience in pharma industry in India out of which I have worked as a Medical Rep for 6 years and as an Area Manager for 3 years.( 1997 - 2006 ) I have also worked as a Retail Sales Executive in Dubai for 1+year. (2006-2008) My Educational Qualification is B.Sc with Chemistry. What I need to know is, 1. Can I get a job as a Medical Representative in UAE / other Gulf Countries? Do I really need to have a B.Pharm qualification to be a Medical Rep. there? 2. What salary should I expect in Dubai? From my retail experience in Dubai, I understand that I will have to start from scratch in Dubai even if I had 9+ years experience in India. 3. Which are the pharma companies in UAE? How can I apply? Currently I am in India. I have found that job search through webportals are not at all helpful. Thank you, and anticipating your response. Warm Regards, Mustufa.
What jobs/careers hire attractive women with Communications degree? My wife is a Communications major, she is gorgeous and is looking for a career that would fit her and pay well. She is friendly, honest, genuine, and well liked by most people. She has thought about PR, Pharm/Medical Sales, news anchor, a high school Speech teacher, etc? What careers do you think might be a good fit? Thanks for your help.
Breaking into Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Sales? I have been trying to break into Pharmaceutical and or Medical Device Sales for a little less than a year with little to no success. When I graduated college in 2008, I had a job lined up with Pfizer, then they went on a hiring freeze and the rest is history. I am still trying but have met with limited results. I have sales experience just not B2B. I have multiple friends in the industry who have been urging me to pursue this career because they think I'd be good at it. Problem is no one in the fields seems to be hiring at entry level. HOW CAN I GET EXPERIENCE IN THIS FIELD IF NO ONE WILL GIVE ME A SHOT?! I am now halfway through my MBA degree and have had decent results pursuing many other jobs. Any idea on how I can break into this field?? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.
How do I start a distribution company in the medical field? I am already in medical device sales, and have the opportunity with a friend of mine starting a company with a new product. It's a product that can be used to clean and is going to be the only one approved to kill hepatitus, and MRSA. How do I start a company because I figure if I start a company then I can have distributor reps work for me as I already have a job. My job now is not as a distribution rep. Any advice is appreciated.
Companies for those you want to be Independent sales rep? I would not mind at all being an independent sales representative. My one aunt just started with Avon and is very successful, my other aunt sells Tunguska Blast, a health food drink that helps shrink medical problems in the body and helps you to feel rejuvenated. I want to sell a product, but not the ones my famil sells. What companies offer good independent sales rep. jobs?
Are sales job worth looking into compared to working at dead end job @ a major university? I've been in a rutt lately trying to determine whether or not I should make a move into a sales position. I keep hearing that sales jobs make lucrative amounts of money and that it's a field which requires great people skills. I have that but fear losing out of my medical benefits or stability. The current job I have doesn't promote within and seems to be pretty much a dead end position. They don't offer raises because they claim there is no money available for that but yet they seem to purchase property surrounding the university like it was a game of monopoly. I'm frustrated and would like to know if anyone out there has any advice on this matter. If so please respond. Thanks R. Lee
Outside Sales Job? What kind of outside sales jobs are recommended for a recent college graduate (with a biology degree) that is looking to gain experience in the pharmaceutical/medical equipment sales industry?
Sales Position with a Medical Staffing Company??? A medical Staffing company wants to interview me for a Sales Position. Has anyone worked in a similar job? I have no idea what I would be doing. It is Salary plus Commission, but they seem a little eager to get me in. Is this a high turn-over job or something? They tell me the Salary is in the mid-40's and the average 1st year person makes $60-$70K total with bonus... but of course I am skeptical. Most companies make sales positions sound better than they are.
