Would you prefer email or letter (employers)? I am looking for trainee veterinary jobs. Would Employers prefer a letter or could i send them a email and ask? I thought it would be better to send a letter but sometimes Employers just chuck them away without taking a second look.
Do you think bigger women are dont get jobs cause of there weight? I want to apply for a construction trainee job but dont know how the employer will feel cause of my weight
Where can I find Trainee Pharmacy Technician jobs? I am currently living in Bristol and working at Sainburys Pharmacy. I have been working there for approximately two years. At the moment I am completing an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services. I would love to be able to go on and study the level 3 so I can be a qualified technician however my current employer does not offer any further training on the level 2. I keep checking for jobs on the NHS website as that is where I would ideally like to train but I have never seen any jobs advertised for trainees. I have heard that most trainee posts are advertised internally for staff already working in the pharmacy. If that is the case then how am I ever going to be able to study the level 3 course! Does anyone have any experience or know of any paths I can take?
How can you apply for a position in the Private Investigation Field as a P.I. Trainee to gain experiance? How can you apply for a position in the Private Investigation Field as a P.I. Trainee to gain experiance? Like do you just fax your resume to the employer and just wait like most jobs or is there something else to it? Thanks. :)
Can being stuck in a job you hate kill confidence and self esteem? I've been in mine for 4 years, prior to it I used to be out going, enjoy life but gradually I have become angry, frustrated, bitter and worst of all have 0 confidence left. To cut a long story short, took a job, employers son also started same time, he got my job which was advertised with 0 experience, I got his cr*ppy job with my 10 years experience which is basically a trainee role and have been treated like a doormat since, while he is now supervisor.
Expalining failure of a working test period to prospective employers? Currently I have a state job as an analyst for the Governor's budget office. The position is a trainee position where if you pass, you get the job, and if you fail, then you don't. As it turns out, they are very selective and are primarily judging new employees based on how well they fit into the team. Well, I'm not "fitting" all too well, and it looks like they're not going to continue me. I'm afraid future employers are going to look at this as if I were fired, and assume the worst no matter how I try to explain it. It's a very prestigious and competitive position, so a lot of people end up washing out. How would you explain this in a job interview?
I want to apply for jobs as a headhunter. What would a prospective employer want to see on my resume? I want to apply for headhunter positions as a trainee. I have no previous sales experience, and was trying to find out what sort of transferable skills would be flags to show a recruiter that I could possibly be good at the job?
I have an interview tomorrow with a sales and marketing company for a trainee position, any advice for me? Ive never had a job before and stopped college last year, employers always ask "what have you been doing?", on reflection i know i should have done something but i've changed my ways now, what can i say?

What is a real estate trainee? About three weeks ago I sent out my resumes to a number of employers I found on craiglist. Today, I got an e-mail from one of them. It was a position of "real estate trainee". During the time I was applying for the job, I was desperate to get any calls. I wanted any job. Now, I feel a bit stupid, and I do not know if I should contact them for an interview. I don't even know what a real estate trainee is. What is it?
I graduated college with honors 11 years ago. I'm 31. Why can't I understand the training of all jobs I start? I am a 31 year old guy. I graduated in political science and history. The problem is that I can never understand the technical aspects of the jobs I accept. All of the other trainees do better than I do. I am working a state job that requires a person to understand a complex computer system. There is so much law and policy to understand. I am a public assistance specialist. All of this info is going over my head! And the other trainees are picking it up. This happened to me also on a state job where I was an unemployment adjudicator (made decisions on cases). If I have a high I.Q. and got almost a 4.0 in college and can work well with others, why can't I understand policy? Is a certain part of my brain not functioning? I just can't process technical information. Maneuvering around on screens is also hard for me. I have failed on many jobs because of this. I get the feeling that employers like my personality, but they have to let me go because I can't comprehend the job. I try hard!

DO NOT GO WITH EMPLOYER UK - I DID A SEARCH WITH COMPANIES HOUSE AND THEY DON'T EXIST. POLICE ARE INVOLVED? I was looking for trainee financial jobs, and somehow Employer UK got my details. They emailed me saying my CV matched some of their positions. I was a bit confused as i did not recognise their name, but their jobs sounded perfect and excellent money too. I was suspicious when i got a call from a guy calling himself alex townsend from employer uk. He was waffling on about a potential employer, but i needed to show i had started studying a relelvant course. Luckily, i know the usual examiner for these qualifications and the price, so what they were saying did not add up. He was very pushy, and said he needed some card details to get things moving. He continued to call me, and got more and more pushy. He then emailed saying a potential employer was saying they would cover the remainder of my study skills. They also said if i did not get a job within 6 monhs i'd get my money back. Luckily i had the sense to google these people and it came up as a scam in several web forums. I contacted the police, he ran a search on the address they give on their website. No business is registered there, and employer uk are not registered at all with companies house. Do not give any money to these disgusting people - you'll never see it again and they'll likely drain your account. If you have already given them money or card details contact battersea police station on 0208 247 8441 and state there is an existing crime report on this company with them (crime reference number 0329292)

Should I take the job.? After spending the last three months looking for jobs, I am considering taking a sales/management trainee job with a national mattress store. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management from a decent school this summer and had hoped to land a 9-5 position, but that seems unlikely in this economy. I want to know if taking this position will look good on my resume when I apply for jobs in the future, especially outside sales positions, and if there is much room for advancement in retail. I think it is best to take a job in this economy to show prospective employers that I have a good work ethic.
What is a "Insurance Sales Manager Trainee"? I applied for a job as a Sales Manager Trainee and have a interview, And am curious what exactly one does. I am a good manager, And have experience with customer service, And managing a small business. But will I be selling insurance, Or managing those who do? I am more a manager/people person then a salesman. I can sell stuff ok, But not as well as someone who is good at it. The job pays really well PLUS commissions. Obviously I don't want to ask the employer what the job does, So I figure I will ask you good people. ty I dunno, If it is just a bad carrying-esque job then they are paying way to much. The job pays 30k a year for a standard 40 hour work week plus commission. The standard pay alone is like 14 bucks an hour. Plus whatever the commissions are.
Can an employer offer you a job but then refuse it because you need to work notice at a previous job? I'm on a work trial and in the interview I stated that I would need to give a months notice. The next day when I started the trial I mentioned this again and he quickly said that it wouldn't be possible. That in that month they may find another trainee and offer him/her the job. Is that legal? If I'm offered this job then I will be working 14 hour shifts for the next month.

Help with a job that I would love to land? Hi everyone I hope someone can help me, I am currently out of work and have been trying to pursue a career in recruitment. I am not degree educated which im pretty sure is my main set back as I am 29 trying for a trainee job. Which I am sure maybe employers are thinking is to old. Will this career happen for me or should i just except to just move on from it? I have all the necessary attributes money orientated, natural leader, confident with my sales skills. Any advice would be much appreciated Thank you.

I am thinking of training to become a tax adviser? I graduated about 15 years ago with an ordinary degree in Combined Studies, which included topics from subject areas such as Mathematics, Computing and Accounts. I live in the UK. However, I do not have any tax work experience, so could anybody be kind enough to inform me how to go about it. For example do I need to be working as a trainee tax adviser before doing any necessary studying to get required qualifications? The problem with that would be that employers would be reluctant to give me a job without having any qualifications in the tax area. The other problem may be my age, I am approaching 40 ! Please advice Thanks

How does a degree affect getting a job? I'm currently studying Entrepreneurship (management+accounting+economics) in a university in the UK and will end up getting a MA(Hons) [which is a bachelors' degree] after all the hard work. Now, after this I'd like to go to the U.S. to work in a managerial position (starting from trainee manager if nothing else).. Now, what kind of degrees do employers require in such positions? i.e. would I have to have a masters degree? And does anyone know a good website for these type of issues/whatever-you-might-describe-it-as?

Do I need to go to school to be a freight conductor or will the employer train me on the job? The position I'm looking at is for a freight conductor trainee for both BNSF and CPR. I would just like to know what kind of qualifications the railroad looks for in an applicant?
Job experience required for EVERYTHING... Here's my theory. Am I right? Okay, So it would be best if someone who is like a head-hunter, or an HR scout to answer this... I'm basically going to tell everyone my theory, and then ask if this is correct. If it's not, please cite what you think IS the correct theory. Here goes... Every dang job out there now, whether it's posted on monster, craigslist, in the local newspaper, etc... all state that they want no less than 2-5 years experience. Okay... now every job field is different. But, what in the heck is really going on? Is there some secret club where all the "cool kids" get to find jobs, and everybody else is just stuck on the outside looking in? I'm not even looking for a job anymore... I said F it, I'm living with family, and starting my own business. If this fails, I'm going to do something I said I never would that could get me in some trouble, but who gives a crap. I need to eat, and because I can't just live on the land (property taxes), and I don't have the capital to buy land, I'm left with no choice but to become a Robin Hood of sorts. So, here's my observations of what's going on... I'm 30 years old, and the only people my age that I know who are successful are friends who got into banking before the economy started to slightly descend back in 2004-2005. Everyone I know who was in before that time is doing fine. Some in the 6 figure range. Then there are friends of mine who worked tables and worked in their field part-time (had a graphic designer buddy who did this). Every other person I know who's doing well is either in a family owned business or is in health care. No one else has yet "made it" --- well, except for teachers, and that's kind of a joke - no offense to any teachers, but it's not really part of the "economy" --- sort of like the military (I was in the military, so don't anyone rip my head off). The babyboomers, except those who were in certain markets, and certain areas of finance, real estate, and businesses that sold/rented merchandise that are considered marginal spending (video/dvd rental stores, etc, furniture) seem to be doing okay. Seem to be doing okay I said... and even some of them are NOT doing well. I know a few. But all the jobs I see out there have this strange demand that everyone have 2-5 years experience. My theory is that what is REALLY going on is, the babyboomers are all just swapping jobs. The employers know this, and so they can just demand that any candidates they interview have 2-5 years of experience. I don't personally have any technical skills such as I.T., engineering, or process operations, but when I was looking for a job - before I gave up and started the business - I kept noticing that all these fields such as IT, engineering, oil/gas refineries... anywhere I thought a person could earn a good salary basically... and it seemed not a one of them had any kind of 'trainee' program available. Even Valero Corporation's operator trainee position prefers a person to have experience in the field. So, what else is there to assume? Have these companies all become so danged inefficient at training people? Are they that incompetent that they can't take a person with a good work history and teach them job duties and operations of their equipment? I DEFINITELY have an incredibly good work history... I've never called in sick even one time in my entire work history. I really do feel bad for all these people... and sadly, the babyboomers (our parents) kind of have their heads up their orifices about this, and they don't see what's shortly coming on the horizon if people don't wake up and start choking some politicians to take the power of the purse out of centralized control of private enterprise bankers at the Federal Reserve, and start coining and printing TRUE national money again WITHOUT usury [interest, for you non-Bible readers ;) ]. Because if our government doesn't get their heads out of their orifices too, this country is going to be ripe for a pretty dang violent and bloody revolution. If you can't see that coming, it's only because your bank account and belly are too full. But all that aside... do you all think that could be what's happening? Is it just that the babyboomers are literally swapping jobs?
What are my rights regarding payment from a previous employer? I thought I had landed my dream job as a Trainee Negotiator at a new Estate Agency that was due to open. After being offered a fulltime position I was told another lady would be joining us (he needed 2 to be trained up from the onset) and that my hours would be initially part time until he was in a financial position to pay us to be there fulltime. I worked my first day with no problems, he seemed very pleased with my work. I went into work my 2nd day, only to be sent home until Monday as the office wasn't ready and I would have been in the way of the ongoing work. Monday morning, getting ready for work I received a text message telling me I had no job and that a cheque would be sent out for my hours. That was in April, I still haven't received the cheque. I have phoned him twice and been told it would be sent. On the telephone I wanted to clarify what days I was going to be paid for. He is disputing the fact he asked me to come in and whether he should pay me for the Monday. continued I feel that I should be paid for the day I actually worked, the day I was sent home and also the Monday when I was told I had no job, as I obviously left these free to work. I couldn't work anywhere else as I was supposed to be there. He also kept the other lady he took on after me, explaining that it was nothing personal and she was a friend of the family (how more personal can you get?). No contract was signed. I lost money over this time and it has left me feeling depressed and in debt, making it harder to find another job. I'm going to send a letter so he has it on paper what I expect to be paid for. Do I have any rights?
What type of employer is K-Mart to work for? A friend of mine has been offered a job as an assistant manager for K-Mart under the "manager trainee program", does anyone here work for K-Mart or have worked for them in the past? What type of employer are they? There have been roumers of the company going bankrupt? Should he take the job? Does anyone have first hand experience with this employer?
Why would an employer purposely hold you back in a job? I started my current job 5 years ago, was more than qualified etc, but ever since I got in I have never been allowed to do the job advertised, I did question my employer soon after starting as to why I wasn't doing as advertised and he denied all knowledge, but as I say since then I have been purposely held at the bottom of the ladder doing stupid jobs a trainee would do IE emptying bins etc, in fact when a trainee does start they start above me. I'd just like to know why an employer would do this? I'd leave but live in such an unemployment black spot I can't get another job and I have been looking
Should I pay for BOSIET training before applying for an oil rig job or will a potential employer pay the cost. I am considering trying to get a job on an offshore oil rig. I would like to apply as a roustabout or electricians trainee but would like to be prepared best as possible before sending in applications.Any help would be appreciated.

I rejected a job offer yesterday but now really, really regret it? I rejected a job offer yesterday for a Footman (Trainee Butler) and now I really, really, really regret it. Can I ring up the employers now and say I want it???
I can't seem to land a job after 25+ interviews...what am I doing wrong? Ok, I've been told that in interviews I'm well-presented, intelligent, talkative, and that I come across positively. After one interview, I was told by one of my interviewers that I'd given the best interview he'd ever seen. But I came in 2nd!? Another interviewer gave feedback saying I "could talk the talk but not walk the walk." My background: Most of my experience is in call centers, hospitality, and IT with a smattering of retail in the mix. I also have management/supervisory experience. My strengths are customer service, client relations, communicating, creativity, and troubleshooting/problem-solving. Here's what I've done: I've re-written my CV/Resume numerous times, including tailoring it specifically for the job I'm applying for. I try to be as informed and knowledgeable about the job description and company as I can be with the information I have available. The employers here (in Ireland) are suspicious of functional resumes and tend to toss instead of consider them. So I use a combination CV to try and get the most out of my experience. Here's what I know: my CV is very well written. I've listed every skill and trait I can think of that might impact the potential employer. I've tried applying for different career fields, including customer service and trainee/assistant manager jobs. I've asked for feedback (as mentioned above) and taken every bit to heart. I've written specific and very unique cover letters to accompany each application that highlights why I want the job, what I can offer, and what I feel the company could offer me, as well as trying to make my experience focus towards what the job requires (for instance, focusing on my team leadership skills and supervisory experience when applying for managerial roles). Obviously I'm looking for your help in figuring out this problem since I can't seem to do it myself, but if I had to pick something I think my problem comes down to experience. But this is confusing to me as well because if I didn't have the experience, why was I interviewed? Isn't that something the interviewer should have resolved before I even came in? Even so, if it is experience then how can I possibly overcome that in an interview stage? I know I've laid a lot out there for you guys but, God...I need some seriously advice and help. I know I can do these jobs and be awesome in them but I can't seem to get that across during the interview and with my CV! Ah, yeah it would seem I'm wordy but I'm aware of that. My CV/Resume is 2 pages long and I have a short Personal Statement/Objective that can be read in under 20 seconds.
Did I get the job Im so nervous/excited? Ok, I went and gave an application to an employer for a phlebotomy trainee, the job is they will train me for a phlebotimist and work for them, Its a big company that does blood drives and all that. Now she gave me a little interview when I went there, It went very well. She told me to come back monday to talk to the boss of the company about the job, There looking for 6 people and I really think I got a very good chance? what do y'all think? Im SO pumped up I have been looking for a job for a while now and this is something I have Been very interested in. Im 19 and used to work in a funeral-home embalming, which impressed them also. Additional Details I also explained why my work history is not much, I live with my grandparetns and have since I was 9, and I do alot for them take care of them etc.. And I really want to find somthing that could be a career and I think this is IT!! I Pray it is.... Thank You very much Jigsaw, Im glad to see there are nice people on here. ....all I ever get really are rude and mean answers, I mean come on people grow up.
Name for this political party? After reading through the manifestos of the major political parties in the UK, i have taken some of the policies that i agree with and intend to stand at the next general election. I would like the help of some of the more creative people to come up with a good party name. just a few things: It shouldnt contain the words, British, United Kingdom, UK etc. Preferably it should be a single word such as (Conservatives, Labour, Liberals, Democrats, Republicans, Nationalists, etc.) ideally a word that relates to the party. Democracy – •Alter the Human Rights Act to allow the country to stop the parasites of this nation. •Change anti-discrimination laws to allow people to allow freedom of speech, anti-discrimination laws should only be applied during the employment process. •Allow complete freedom of speech, leaving only restrictions on incitement to violence, this is after all, a “free” country. •Reject ID cards, intrusive surveillance and the retention of DNA samples of all innocent people. •Introduce an English parliament within the United Kingdom. •Introduce citizen-initiated referenda on any issue when 5% of the local population petition. Crime – •End the fixation of political correctness that hinders the courts efforts. •End the constant demands for criminal rights and begin to focus more on the rights of victims. •Make punishments harder for petty criminals and vandals to help lower the crime rate. •Allow the death penalty in the cases of Terrorists, Murderers and Paedophiles, were the evidence is indisputable. •Force convicted criminals to server their full sentence unless proven innocent at a later date. •All repeat offenders will be given an automatic prison sentence, with time varying depending on the crimes. •Increase the number of police on the streets, and abolish their need for political correctness. Economy – •Increase tax threshold to 12,000 to take low earners out of tax. •Create a single flat income tax rate of 30% while abolishing other income taxes & the employees’ national tax rate. •Create a single 20% income tax rate for pensions on the new tax threshold. •With the money recouped from the lack of need of state welfare, we aim to abolish Employers National Insurance to stimulate job creation. •Reduce the number of jobs in the public sector in an effort to increase the number of jobs in the private sector with the aim of “evening things up”. •Cut landfill tax, non jobs and political correctness to cut council tax. •Abolish VAT and replace it with a new form of tax that had a high proportion going to local councils. Education – •Introduce basic reading tests at an early age. •Require higher qualifications for teachers. •Have more on the job training for trainee teachers. •Allow universities to decide on students by academic ability and merit by destroying the 50% target from each school. Environment – •Create a £45 billion investment plan to begin a “green revolution” so that low and zero-carbon sectors of the economy replace the high carbon sectors. •Support more renewable sources of energy. •Make re-use & re-cycling easier. •Increase the amount & quality of public transport to cut carbon emissions. •Invest in tidal, wind and solar power, this will not only help the environment but also create a large number of new jobs. Europe – •Withdraw from the European Union •Reclaim controls over British borders. •Restore the use of Britain’s original measurements as testament to our culture. •Withdraw from the CFP & CAP •Stop sending £45million a day to Brussels. •Keep the Pound. •Control our economy. Health – •Reduce cancer test response time to 5 days. •Allow routine checkups for the over 40s to help prevent any serious problems. •One to one care for cancer patients. •More options for healthcare at home. Immigration – •End mass immigration •Allow temporary visa for non work related entry. •All citizens from EU countries who came here since 2004 are treated just as non-EU citizens are. •Deport all immigrants who are unemployed and are not seeking work. •Deport all non-British citizens who commit crimes. •Increase the difficulty of the English test that immigrants take when applying for British citizenship. •Immigrants hoping to apply for British citizenship must have been living in the UK for no less than 5 years and must have been working for that period of time. •Only allow people with useful skills migrate to the UK. •All immigrants wishing to become British citizens must accept the British culture and employers are not required to make any exceptions for any foreign culture, “This is how we live, if you don’t like it, don’t live here”. Welfare – •Create simpler categories for benefits while ensuring British citizens get a no means tested cash benefit. •Allow all workers to claim benefit until their wages reach our £12,000 tax threshold. •Merge Child Bene D S, i'm not racist, I just think that if people are going to move here, they should at least be working.
I am a trainee pastry chef. Should I miss two days of work due to a throat infection? I have been to the doctors, and they told me to print and fill out a copy of a self certificate from HM revenue and customs. I did, and put down all the information I could, and left a message to my employer that I will be missing a couple days. I have only just started as a trainee pastry chef a couple weeks ago. Common sense tells me to miss a couple days while I recover, however, when I was leaving a message through the manager (not the employer) He sounded very annoyed, and expected me to come in even though I am ill. I don't want to jeopardise my placement, as I have been extremely lucky to get a job I love. Yet I am ill, and worried. If there are any chefs, cooks, or anyone who specialises in this area, please leave me a fair bit of information. Thank you.
what should i do now when my employer asked me to leave without any reason? hi evry body reading this question.recently i got a job as software engineer trainee and sighned bond for 2 and half years with a IT company which is product software company and they have given march 15 th as my joining date in offer letter.on march 15th my HR called me up and said the joining date is postponed and ill call u when it will be.a week back i got a call from my HR she said that i dont know when the joining date will be and asked me to look for another job.the reason she is saying is that the project which they hope of getting is lost to another company.now i am depressed i dont know what to do now and i am not getting interest in attending any interviews further .can i proceed legally.and what should i do now. in my offer letter they have given joining date is effective on or before march 15.our HR is saying that i dont know the exact joining date it mat in a week or a month or in 2 months or it may take 3 months .it will be when we get the same project which we lost now.
Have I left it too late to get a job in accountancy? I am a 24 year old modern languages graduate who is looking to start on an A.A.T course. I currently work full time for an employment agency, in an administration role, but I really want to get my future career in accountancy started. I have been searching for a trainee accountancy job for a year now, I must have applied to 15 positions and have only received 2 interviews both of which I was unsuccessful. The areas most employers have stated as my weaknesses are; lack of experience, prolonged time out of work (due to being in full-time education, and 2 years travelling). I don't know how they can expect me to have extensive work experience at 24, I have spent 3 years at Uni, 2 years at college prior to that and 2 years travelling the world. The same applies for pro-longed time out of work. I am currently working as an Admin assistant as an agency worker, and although I love the people I work with, the job is demoralising, and poorly paid. Please don't let me be stuck in it!
Does the law state that tyre fitters have to use a cage whilst inflating a truck tyre? i'm a trainee tyre fitter and i got put on a job just to inflate a truck tyre i got to 108 psi and it blew out in front of me with no cage we don't have a cage in the garage is my employer in the wrong by law?
Will Schwan see every place I have ever worked for? I got a conditional offer of employment with schwan as a manager trainee, but now they are doing a background check on me and they guy told me that they would look at my employment history. When I filled out my application I didn't put every job i have ever worked for, I only put two places that I have worked for. Does this mean that he will see every job that i have ever worked for or does this mean that they will call just my last employers to check on me??????
Economy sucks? Who here believes that the job market sucks? I sure do! Employers suck!!! Nobody is hiring, but when they are hiring, they only want people with experience. How are you supposed to get experience when no one will hire you?! I have been laid off numerous times from jobs that hired me as a trainee. Their reason: they wanted someone with more experience. I can't keep a job, nobody's hiring(maybe if they stopped moving jobs overseas or giving to illegal immigrants...)I am bitter towards the economy. Employers are douchebags....
I'm thinking of a career change and IT sounds good to me, whats the best way into a decent IT job that pays.. around 40 - 50k or more.(when qaulified. less when training or at first) I dont mind contracting, fancy something to do with network security or administration which would probably interest me, i'm only 23 and am a trainee stockbroker but I dont fancy the long hours any more. I dont have a degree either if that makes a diference. Any advice from an IT proffessional would be appreciated. I've looked but these jobs dont appear to be advertised much. Should I pay and do a certified course or do employers take on complete trainee's? Thanks.. I live just north of London right on the central line.. I've got a couple of mates that work in IT one's on 75k and the other just over 60k but their firm is not taking people on at the mo. Other wise id be on them like a cheap suit! Thanks
pregnant, unemployed and broke.. where can I go for help? Hi, well, heres how I got to this point (a breif overview anyway). I have been working since I was 14yrs 9 month old. I started out working 3 jobs and over 70 hours per week.. I worked 7 days per week. this was to help my parents pay the house payments. I moved out of home (was pushed out) at 18 years of age. and moved45 min drive away to work as a trainee manager at a large department store. I poured my heart into that job- knowing how bad i needed that paycheck at the end of each month. I was taken advantage of by my employers- made to work 15 hours per day 5 days per week, I was bullies, harassed and victomised too. often had stock thrown at me or screamed at infront of other staff and customers.. I tried to battle it out for 3.5 years before i finally snapped. I now cant leave my house due to anxiety, depression and agrophobia. i have tried countless anti-phsyotic meds and anti depressants with not much improvement. I have seen phsycologists for 10 months now (thats how long it has been since i was deemed unfit for work). my mental evaluations all steer that i need more agressive treatment with a phsiciatrist but these sessions cost around $300 per hr session. Im currently on a sickness alowance with centrelink which gives me enough to pay my rent and $15 pw after rent is paid for anything else i may need. My doctor charges me $80 everytime i have to see her (i need to see her for treatment reviews and to get work cover medical certificates so that myu employer has to keep my job open). I have a workers comp claim open which has been going since april last year and still havent received a cent. I owe my bank $3000 from a loan and im missing repayments- there goes my credit rating and now im pregnant (i was raped) and cant afford food. My desire to live is decreasing- i feel worthless.. i want to do whats best for this baby and myself but i cant even afford to look after me. does anyone know of any charity organisations that may be able to help with this situation? thanks in advance. I have a heap of clothes just sitting in my wardrobe- some have never been worn. im trying to sell them on ebay but no luck with that as yet :/
If i sign a contract with a new employer and my work history is'nt what i said can they fire me? I live in England (laws). I have recently gone for a job as a trainee financial advisor. I have done well and am dead cert to get the position and start my training. In 6 days i will sign a contract. However the employers are asking for my last 5 years earnings from the Inland Revenue (they've asked me to obtain this), but it does not coincide with the information I gave. I have been with my current employer for 2 and half years, However before that I have said I had only one previous employer which was Currys- Shop Floor Manager. The truth is I had to tart things up to help my CV get processed as I knew i would do well if I got a chance of an interview. Before my current job I was a carpenter for 6 months, and before that i DID work at currys(electrical retail) although only part time and as a sales assistant. They are aware that this info will come some weeks after I sign the contracts- when they are recieved and are wrong, can they fire me? Or is it their discretion?
Please help reply to a possible employer about job interview!! PLEASE HELP? Pharmacy Tech. go to school or train on hire? I'm thinking of enrolling in a 1 year program to get the pharmacy tech certificate just because i heard that its easy and a great way to find a job..but i heard from other people that you can just get a job and train under a pharmacist instead. that way you make money and you're learning at work. so how do you actually go and train under them? don't you need some experience or whatever in order to apply for a job? do the employers usually hire you if you have no experience? because usually when you apply for any job they ask for your experiences and the position you want...im sure there's no choice such as pharmacy tech trainee..and my experience ____ ...since i have no experience in pharm tech. i cant possibly apply for a pharm tech position can i? how would i go on about this? lol much obliged..
what would you do if you were me? there is a job I really want to apply for, problem is you have to have a disability to apply. I am dyslexic and epileptic ( A small form of it, I rarely have seizures and haven't had one in ages; what normally happen is I blank out when highly stressed but I don't black out) My problem is epilepsy can sometime be a huge hindrance to employment it is not something predictable. I never tell employers about it after a bad experience. The job is for trainee producer in media; Should I talk about it or should I just focus on dyslexia I am sure, this is one of the questions; The following questions are designed to help us get a sense of how disability impacts on your life, and to find out a bit more about your own experience of disability. A) What is your Disability?
Meet and Greet With Potential Employer? I applied for a Trainee position and after the telephonic interview, assessments and panel interview they are calling me in for a meet and greet with the manager. What does this entail? Will it be an interview? Does it mean that I have the job? Should I prepare anything?
Resigning from a job - after only a few days? I have recently started a new job as a warehousing assistant, however I have now been offered a job elsewhere as a Trainee Accountant, which I would think offers more of a future, as the job also includes training paid for by the company. I have only been working in the warehouse for 4 days now, and although it is OK, I do not want to miss out on this other job. Firstly, what would my notice period be, if I don't have a contract? Secondly, what would I put on the resignation letter? I've seen quite a few, but it's just choosing the right words, as the people there are nice. Finally, when should I hand it in? I am due to start this new job on 19th February, and would either like to hand it in tomorrow (2nd Feb), or Monday 5th Feb, as I need a week to do some preparatory work for the college training the new employer is putting me on. If I hand it in Monday, and assuming it's a week's notice, would I leave Friday the same week or the following Monday. Thanks in advance!!
really depressed that i cant live and work in UK..someone pleease give me a work permit i beg u!!!? i graduated at cardiff university in a biotechnology degree. but after my student visa expired i had to come back to my home country(sri lanka: where the biotech field is non-existent). so i really really need a british employer to give me a job offer so i can come over there with a work visa. but how do i do it from sri lanka? i cant even come for an interview..but im willing to work for a reduced salary..even 10k a year is ok. i just have the degree and no experience..so i want to work as a graduate/trainee.
What's the point in trainees? I read over a job ad for a trainee position. I looked down to where it say must have Bachleors or Associates degree. Ok that's fine. What doesn't sound right is where it says must have years experience in so and so job. If a person has years experience in the position applying for then, why are they considered trainees? It also says they offer training, but yet they still expect applicants to have years work experience along with the training that they offer. Why employers do that? I don't hafve years work experience in the job. Should I not apply for it especially since they said they offer training? It's kinda confusing how they say one thing and then mean another.
Interview for a job of my dreams - Dog grooming, any pros out there? Hi, Is anybody out there a dog groomer, or owns there own business or even knows of a groomer who can give me a few pre-interview pointers. I have an interview to become a trainee groomer, something which I have dremt of for years, Ive hummed and hared over courses for months, and last week an advert in my news paper and i went for it. work based learning in australia? I am struggling to find an employer for a plumbing apprenticeship. but i have noticed numerous vacancies for trainee plumbers to start as apprentices in australia. is there anything stopping a 20 year-old male british citizen from doing this job? i have family over there and i am currently studying plumbing at college.
EMPLOYER UK HELPED MY BREAK THROUGH AFTER 2 MONTHS JOB SEARCH? I have been applying for jobs nonstop with all the usual websites for over 2 months. I’ve had a couple of calls but no follow-ups apart from people saying they will call back if selected. End of last week, I got a call from Employer UK which also took me through the standard procedure but claimed they were sourcing more than one position that matched my profile, after having a good look at the positions, I really did feel that I had a good chance of securing a position. They assigned me to my own account on their platform and I have had new positions matched literally every other day. The fact that I could also talk to my adviser and not just deal with a website was also very helpful, Alex was very professional all the way. Got the interview dates on the second position I was put up for on the 22nd of Dec, Trainee investment Advisor with SMG Group in London. This is how the recruitment process should be, not just standard websites and no real service. I have been applying for jobs nonstop with all the usual websites for over 2 months. Change of workscope? My friend was recently asked to go in the office of his firm. He was taken on as a trainee. There was a downturn in the workscope and he has been returned to his former job. Can his employer reduce his salary to his former level. English Law. Hi Cari, He was told verbally on the Monday that he was going offshore on the Friday. There was no talk of redundancy.
Interview with HAYS RECRUITMENT tomorrow!!? I have applied for a job as trainee recruitment consultant with Hays recruitment and have passed the telephone interview. I have now been given an interview tomorrow and was just wondering if anyone else can let me know what kind of thing to expect or what kind of questions they ask. The salary states 20-25k which i think is OTE does anyone know roughly what the basic salary is as i dont want to ask??? any help would be great. thanks
tired of human beings? i was 22 when i took up my first job,i was harrassed by my employers for 13 long months, couldn't find another job so had to stick with the same job despite the fact that the site was 100km away and i had severe backache,my empoyers were cruel, they used to verbally abuse me becuase i was still a trainee, had to quit as i couldn't withstand the torture, took up another job, there again i was harrassed by somebody as i refused to enter into illicit relationship....had to quit as my life was made difficult.,now again i am studying...my colleagues are being uncivil, they are unethical...they cheat in all the tests and exams...they dislike me because i refused to help them during tests and exams....there was a lot of pressure on me to enter into illicit relitionships with boys.i refused, now they hate me,they make it a point to hurt me by making causatic remarks and by laughing at me when i feel bad.i am tired, life seems worthless,i want to stop but can't because i am young, feel very low and numb
I quit job at Nursing home and had only been there for 2 weeks. I didnt give 2 week notice, can I get sued? I had been hired before I turned 18 and it was important to me that my parents approved of my job. I was working at a Nursing home for two weeks before I got information on my financial aid. I get enough to do well with gas and books, and that was why I had taken the job in the first place. My parents didn't like the place and how the employers treated me, especially with the grueling hours even though I was a trainee. I saw no reason to continue on and called to tell my employer that I was quitting because I no longer needed the job. She proceeded to "b***h" me out and then said something about two weeks notice. I tried to be civilized and calmly told her that I would not and hung up. Now I'm nervous because I don't want to be sued for not giving two weeks notice. I had to be fingerprinted and sign a lot of papers before taking this job since I was technically working for the government. Am I going to be sued?
life crisis - marriage and job? I am 39, been maried for over 10 yrs with 2 small kids. When I met my wife we had nothing but with hard work from both we managed to generate wealth not inc house of over £1.5m. During this time I had a job paying very good money and allowing me lots of freedom. After years of trying we also had 2 beautiful children. However in the last year I got a new boss who treated me badly but at the same time I fell for a 25 year old trainee at work and we had an intense relationship. In Dec this year things got so bad that I left my job of 20 years and started a similar job with a new employer. Unfortunately the new job is not as easy as old one and I am struggling and my lover suddenly ended the relationship too. My wife can see I am very unhappy but doesnt know about affair. Although she is a great person - I do not love her. I miss my lover desp but age diff would never work. I should be happy I know but I feel the lowest ever. Any adv would be app - my lover wants 2 be friends I know am selfish and all I have thought about is myself - my kids, my wife and my ex lover all deserve much better than me. I am with my wife cos she would be totally devastated if I left and kids live's would be screwed up too cos they love me so much. I know I can't be friends with my ex lover as too much has happened. As regards the job, I guess i will just have to work harder or do something different. The karma comment is right - I am reaping what I sowed. Only thing I can do is try harder with my wife and try and be happy with her and never have an affair again. As hard as it is I will not ever contact my ex lover again. Thanks for the advice - most of it however painful was right
Do I have to tell an employer on an application if I have a criminal record? I have a criminal record in the United States, however I fall under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act and my record is sealed. I was wondering since my record is in the United States and not in Canada, do I have to let employers know that I have a criminal record when asked on a job application? Will having this record in the Unites States affect me in any way other than being able to cross the border? need some advice on quitting my casual job tomorrow night? I work in Australia at a small cafe casually, i've just been offered a financial services course/trainee-ship thing and some part time work that fits around that. I cannot possible juggle all three so i am quitting the casual job i have currently. I know that being a casual i can quit on them whenever and shouldn't have to feel any sort of obligation to them but im still scared out of my brains! i have come to know my employers quite well over the past six or so months since the business started (its a family run business) and allthough they have been reasonably nice to me...they get pretty angry at the other employees that do wrong by them and i still want to maintain a good relationship by the end of this. They roster me whenever suits them, i dont know when im working from one week to the next and they dont give me much notice for shifts, i dont have regular days or hours....i get crappy pay etc and often have to work roughly 20minutes(unpaid) past the time im meant to leave to finish "duties". Unfortunately they have recently had a few people quit and are now left with 4 staff...including me. So they are allready stressed and angry. When i told them i had been offered some other work (two stores down the street which doesnt help) they nearly had a heart attack. So i have been stressing about telling them im leaving heaps, i cant sleep, i cry often i just feel horrible. I can give them 10 days notice (maybe 14). I'm just not sure how to tell them, im scared out of my mind but i know i shouldnt have to feel like this! please help :(
Can I win this appeal? I was currently laid off by my employer back in may. I started my unemployment and have been collecting as so. When they laid me off they told me my position will no longer be available. The company was closing. The company I worked for was a sub company of a bigger company. They Downsized my department and merged it into another department. Now they called me back and said they are offering me a job back. However the job is a trainee position at nearly 30% pay cut and it is a different shift which is not going to fair well with the family. By that I mean 3 kids under the age of 4 so working thirds is going to cause some family hardship. I am located in Illinois if anyone one needs to no which state this is.
do car salesmen (in general) have much paperwork? I am considering a job change and I am a good salesman but my current employer wants order takers and MANAGER TRAINEES .what can be expected in the way of me tracking my own sales and me doing daily chores not related to meeting and greeting and closing customers
What do I say when calling DEP to ask when I'll hear if got an interview or not? It is a government job with the DEP as an environmental trainee and I'm assuming it will take forever to hear something. About 2 months after the civil service exam, they sent me a form to fill out that was an availability notice/interview notice. I had to fill out two copies saying I was available, and am waiting for them to send it back with an interview time and place (fingers crossed). However, this was almost a month ago now and I am getting so short on money I am desperate for a job and am applying to stuff that is way beneath me (job market here is hopeless). I'm reluctant to apply to be a secretary or something, and then DEP finally gets back to me. What if I get the job and tell a new employer of 2 months (just an ex.) "sorry found something better goodbye". I want to call and ask when I should be expecting any notice of an interview, but I don't know what to say. The form also had an address on it, should I send a letter or make the phone call? Ugh I hate all this so much.
Whats the best way I can wow this employer? Im in a job interview tomorrow at 10am ( 10 hours from now) I am just wondering how I can wow them. I have a fresh off the press up to date CV ive had previous work experience, and I have worked in the industry's that require the skills needed for this job vacancy. The job is a trainee hair dresser for full time work monday to friday from 9am to 6pm.
Work at Enterprise??? Does anyone out there work for Enterprise Rent A Car? (Or worked for them in the past?) I am strongly considering taking a job with them (mgmt trainee), but I've been offered a job elsewhere. Can you please tell me as specifically as possible what some of the pros & cons of working at Enterprise are? What do (did) you especially like/dislike? What can I expect? What would I never expect (good or bad)? What type of personality does well (or does poorly) there? The pay and other non-monetary compensation is roughly the same between Enterprise and the other Company that has offered me a job. So money is not really going to be my determining factor here. I am really concerned with choosing the "right" employer to start building a career with, so I appreciate any and all feedback! Thanks!
What to do? I've just been offered a job but I have two more interviews on Tuesday. How do I stall the first potential employer until I have gone to these interviews? The first job would be just a job for now, it has some potential for growth but isn't exactly what I was looking for. The other two are management trainee positions which is exactly what I was looking for. However, I don't want to jeopardize my chances with the first company in case things don't work out with the other two. Does anyone have some good advice for me?
My ex employer won't pay my holiday pay? I worked for a very well known coffee chain for just over a month. I was being trained for a shift leader position but was on 3 months probation. I found the position to be none existant whilst I was there. Not only were the only other staff assistant managers so I couldn't lead them, they didn't take me seriously and gave me all the rubbish jobs to do as I was a "trainee". Inevitably I was told after a shift that my probationary period was unsuccessful and I would receive all money owed to me including any holiday pay I had accrued. I should have got this 2 weeks ago on pay day. I didn't so I called the manager to ask what was happening with it. Apparently there had been some mix up with head office and I would receive it today. Guess what - no money. I havn't eaten for 3 days to save food for my husband as he's working long hours. All my food money is going on stamps and travel to interviews. Can anyone help me. I really cannot hold on for this money any longer. I have, here in my hand a LETTER FROM HEAD OFFICE. at the top of it it says - unsatisfactory probation period. WHICH IS SENT AUTOMATICALLY to everyone who UNSUCESSFULLY COMPLETES THEIR PROBATION PERIOD! IT STATES in that letter I WILL receive my Holiday pay which is 4 days pay. I also cannot afford to eat as I have no EFFIN money!! SO DON'T ANSWER QUESTIONS IF YOU DON'T READ THEM I BELEIVE YOUR THE MORON.
Do companies focus more on skills/experience learned with them rather than previous? I've only had one previous employer where I gained all my skills and qualifications I.E on site training. However they went bust and since getting my current job 3 years ago it has turned out my previous experience is useless, not recognised at all by my employer, they go by what you have learned with them, so I threw at the bottom of the heep, below trainees even though I have 10 years experience and they have none, Is this normal practise?
If I leave before the end of my notice period can they withold my pay? I have been working at a car delaership as a trainee sales executive for 5 weeks. However, I have been offered a new job which i can't refuse. My contract states I must give 4 weeks written notice, which I handed over after having worked for 3 weeks and 4 days. I have served 1 week and 4 days of this notice period, working as normal. If I was to leave now would my employers have to pay me for the time i have worked? Or can they withold all pay since the date of my notice? Thanks I have asked if i can leave early. The Sales manager/controller is awful (20 sales people have left in the year he has been here, how he is still here beats me!) The Dealer Principle has said he would let me go as soon as he can. However, I am now on a sales support role and the others keep asking me why I am still here, not in a bad way, but it has got me thinking. However, i need to be paid otherwise i will shoot myself in the foot financially. Thanks for the answers so far!
workers compensation and casual workers where do I stand? Well I just found out I have a hernia,I went and saw the specialist yesterday and he thinks it's related to my Job as a childcare worker, I work on a casual basis and I'm not sure how to tell my employer I'm gonna lodge a workers compensation form I worried I'll get fired or it will be declined because they can't prove how long I've had this hernia for ,I've been working for my employer since the end of September 2008 and I started getting tummy problems around December 2008 and I finally got diagnosis this month after having a ultrasound . What a my rights ? will I get fired ? Am I entitled to a pay out ? Will they pay for my operation and medical bills? Will I be forced to see my employers doctor? I'm really worried because the specialist said if I don't go thru workers compensation I'll have to wait over 9 months to get my hernia repaired and also I will have my operation done by a trainee surgeon who will just cut the hernia and sew it up and he said that I'll be more likely I'll have to have the operation again . He said if I go thru workers compensation I'll get it fixed by him and he will put the mesh in and I'll only have to wait 6 to 8 weeks to get it fixed and I shouldn't have to the operation done again. If anyone could help answer my questions or had a similar experience I'd love to hear from you . Thank you for your time
Does Experience Count For Nothing? Sure experience and qualifacations are everything when applying for a job, but once your in it appears to me that experience counts for nothing. I've worked 10 years as a carpenter and as such am fully qualified with all my papers etc, I was with my first employer 10 years and only left because he closed, I got another job and my experience counted for absolutly nothing, I'm put at the bottom of the ladder, treated like an apprentice who knows nothing, it was laughable one day I was actually showed how to use a handsaw by an 18 year old apprentice, add to that I got all the really awful work to do, you know thw type of work no one wants to do thats always given to the "Trainee". Another good one being if they are stuck with a problem, I tell them what to do they say "Yeah, yeah" you know they aren't listening then rudly talk over the top of you among themselves. I got fed up with that an left but this new job is just the same, Does experience not count? It seems tto be how long your there
Do you think White Supremacy and Sexism still exist? Because (WHERE I LIVE ANYWAY) it appears as though it is now Black Supremacy and girls have first say before boys. The reason I say this is because there are a number of services in the community that are only for Indigenous (Aboriginal) people and their own awards night for Aboriginal actors. I find this highly unfair seeing as though they campaign for equality and fairness all the time. And lets not forget to mention I am an Indigenous person to Australia as well, I was born and bread here with generations of family members behind me -- but I'm white. Recently there was a trainee-ship in business going at my school but only aboriginal students could apply and they always seem to be holding BBQ's and camps for aboriginal only children. Kevin Rudd said sorry to Aboriginals a few months ago for the treatment of them years ago but no-one has said sorry to the white population of Australia for the cruel treatment of bringing their ancestors to a far away place, seperating them from their families and dumping them on a Godforsaken spit of dirt. I'm not a racist, in fact I would love to see equality in the world because I believe everyone is equal. Which is why I find this so frustrating. This is the same for girls. I am a female and it disappoints me to see employers hiring girls over boys because they are too afraid of being called sexist. I believe employees should be hired because they are the best person for the job, not because they are female or black. We keep saying no more racism in the world, we're all equal when it actually appears to me as though the whole world has turned right around. Soon white's will be campaigning on the streets for fairness and there will be Men's Lib -- perhaps not that fair but I think you catch my drift.
Does anyone have some advice of a good way of advising an employer that they're quitting? Ok, I work in a small Optometry business that only has 3 employees, the Optometrist/Owner, a Trainee and myself, and I'm only getting $29,000 Aus. dollars a year. Someone's suggested I apply for a job with a building company earning +$40,000 a year. I really would like to try to go for it, but I feel I am obligated to my current employer. I feel he deserves more than a quick letter of resignation and 2 weeks notice, especially this time of year. Does anyone have any advice on some ways I could go about it?
I was fired from my new job, do I have any rights available now? I was fired in December 2006, not quite two years ago. I could not think straight for some time after and it is now coming to me now. I was hired full time for a very large insurance company as an underwriter trainee. I was also a full-time student in an MBA program in Atlanta, GA. The full-time job also served as an internship requirement before graduation, also in December '06. During the initial paperwork, contract part of the hiring process, I communicated to my hiring manager, associate program director and associate program coordinator that I was required by my school to spend one week in Atlanta to complete my 'Final Presentations'. We were to present to our class our findings, observations, things learned, etc during our internship as they applied to our academic curriculum. My program director also signed a written MOU (memo of understanding) that this was understood and that I would be in Atlanta for one week to complete this graduation requirement. Arrangements were made by the program coordinator to be in Atlanta for the week of presentations. I presented and also worked the same week. The coordinator also made plans so that I could work in the Atlanta office the week I was away. The next week, I was fired because my manager said he was unaware of these plans. It is all coming to me now that this was entirely unfair. 1. My former employer is headquartered in Illinois. I am a resident of Tennessee. Where is jurisdiction? 2. If I sue/make complaint next week (less than two years), do I still fall within the statute of limitations? 3. Do I have any recourse? 4. I suffered a large loss of income as a result of my dismissal. Thanks for all your help. I never put two and two together at the time of dismissal. I was completely blown away by the event.
Does it sound like I am about to be fired? I have two weeks to go until the end of my probationary period on my new job. The problem is, I have begun to feel like there is a possibility that I may be fired. My trainer is very rude and does not like me, and treats me unfairly. When I first started, we had a lot of work. Now, I hardly get anything at all. They recently hired 3 other people and these 3 people have work to do. But, for some unknown reason, I don't get very much work. Today, I had absolutely no work to do. I asked the trainer what happened with the work and he stated "It wasn't very much, so I gave it to one of the others. He does not seem phased that I have nothing to do. He really could care less. I told his superior and he has given me light tasks to do, but, nothing that last. Isn't this odd. I have been asking my co-workers for tasks to do, and they give me what they have, when they can. But, I really, do not know what else to do here. It's too the point that I don't even feel like coming to work, because, I know I have 8 hours of basically not much work to do. How would you handle this if you were in my shoes. I need my job, And, I know that my employer has an "at will" policy in effect. But, if I am fired, could I sue? because It really would be unfair to me, this trainer has the problem, he is rude and disrespectful and has a problem with me personally. I have done nothing, but, put up with his insults and try to learn and keep my job. I have been berated in front of other co-workers and talked down too. It has not been easy, but, I have held on, because I need the money. He purposely, does not tell me everything I need to know, just to humiliate me, and is nice to the other, younger trainees. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How do I go about getting back pay? Work has screwed me over!? I started working at this company as a claims consultant role at age 17. They started me on $17,000.00 a year. Which is below the minimum but apparntly they could pay me this as I was a "trainee claims consultant" and working there would get me a certificate 4 in Business Management. 6 Months passes and I realised that the Job was overwhelminlgy stressful and they offered shit training. I had also realised that I havent heard anything regarding my traineeship. I enquired and my boss looked into it. She found that the traineeship company I went through had gone bankrupt and that the 6 months on this discusting wage had been for nothing. My employer also received benefits from the government for employing me whilst on a traineeship. So..found out that Im no longer a trainee, they kept me on,butthey continued to pay me at $17,000 a year fr another 10 months! In that time i had been faced with situations of running the department on my own, a job that in the market pays av min of $45 K
Was this lady treated fairly by her employer?? AWOL soldier lied on application..? First off you have to read the entire story to get the whole story. This isnt a simple case of going UA/AWOL. From article.. "Flynn's saga began in November 1998, when she enlisted in the Army after spending years on welfare and living in a shelter for battered women. Her marriage was failing, and she hoped the military would provide her with job training and a better financial future for her family, according to a 1999 story in The San Diego Union-Tribune. She left her son and daughter, then ages 4 and 8, with a close friend before entering boot camp in South Carolina. After completing basic training, Flynn enrolled in a communications class at Fort Gordon, Ga. In February 1999, she flew home and found that her son, Vidal, was suffering from ringworm, anemia and pneumonia. " " Flynn eventually sought permission to bring her children to Fort Gordon but was told trainees are not allowed to have children on base. Her family members wouldn't take the youngsters, Flynn said, so Army officials instructed her to put the children in foster care. She declined, and in March 1999, the Army declared her AWOL. It later designated her as a deserter. " She was arrested recently and discharged from the Army in record time. Her employer has already fired her according to an story yesterday on tv. The reason for the firing is because she checked the "no" box when asked if she was ever in the military on her application. Was this fair after all she has been through? Best way to get a potential employer to hurry / 'get the ball rolling' with a job offer? I interviewed with company (A) 2 - 3 weeks ago. I heard back from them and they said that really liked me and were interested in having me join the company. But they couldn't give me an official offer as they were still trying to figure out training schedule / when the current trainees would be finished. They said that would be in touch with offer in the next few weeks. I would really like to work for this company, but the issue is that I'm graduating in about a month and half and need to start getting my employment situation figured out. I explained this but they still made it sound like I might be a few weeks. They said 'they would hate to lose me as a candidate.' But I have an offer from another company (B) also. I just trying to figure out the best to let the company (A) while I'm extremely interested in a career with them, they need to figure out the situation and get me an offer soon or will not be able to wait. What is the best way to do tactfully and without pushing them away

can my former employer refuse my final pay due to me in indiana? I quit my job due to a hostile enviorment,on this day i first signed a 2 week notice of resignation as requested by my boss, after giving him this written notice he immediately commenced to repremend me in front of other employees and customers on our sales floor (i have whitnesses) he degraded me and criticized my work in a very hostile manner, at that same moment he turned to a manager trainee (whom i was trainning) and complimented her on her good work and how well the store looked.( as I said I have whitnesses to this fact). I know now the reason he done this was because in the resignation I signed he says it states that i agree to forfit all pay due to me if i dont work those final two weeks. this is a small business owner, and he only hires females because he knows he can get by with intimidation, After quitting I waited untill the next schedueled payday and called in to ask if my final 3 day check was there to pick up.He then told me I have no pay comming to me .
