What is the average starting salary for a trainee chartered accountant in NI? I have recently got the job offer of trainee chartered accountant with the starting salary of 10K. I was thinking this was a bit low as another one of my friends has a job as a trainee accountant in another firm for a lot more of a salary, which doesn't make sense to me at all?? Does it matter who the job is for and on what background degrees a person did. My friend did a degree in accountancy, where as I did a degree in mathematics. As well as this, I did a masters in Risk management and financial regulation, and was wondering if I am I over qualified for this job and should look elsewhere for better oppurtunites?
What salary should I be getting paid? I have worked for the same company for 4 years now. I started as a receptionist, then administrator and now I'm a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. I have yet to have my salary reviewed for my new job but I wondered if anyone can tell me what I should be after. I'm 26. I have already started at uni and by the time my review comes round I will have been there also most a year. Any ideas? I'll be working 47.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. I'm in the West Mids, UK so salary in £ please. I've tried using the salary checkers but most don't have trainee QS. I've looked at recruitment websites as well and the salaries are so varied. I just wondered if anyone knows or has an any experience with this. By the way 47.5 hours are pretty much standard construction industry hours.
Is the pay and experience worth me taking a store manager trainee position at The Salvation Army? I applied and accepted a job as a store manager trainee for the Salvation Army. I am under the assumption that once I am trained I will become store manager at another location. I was wondering if anyone who has been an employee preferably store manager or assistant manager could give me some insight on whether or not they thought the pay was worth the work load? What was the atmosphere like? As a store manager what would I get hourly? Do traditional or superstores offer more for salary?. Thank You
What is the average Trainee CAD Technician's salary? I've been a trainee CAD technician for a year and a half and am on a pretty low salary (£8000) for 4 days in work & 1 in college (30 hours work, 7.5 college<2nd year HND Civil Engineering>). I'm 17, 18 very soon, and want to know should I not be on higher?? The wages have been froze also, which is ok for people on a decent salary but I'm not one've them!! I was promised a large rise on completion of every year in college which was a large pull factor in taking the job. And also, just in case you know, when do I stop being a trainee and become 'CAD Technician'? Don't really want to ask in work incase they think I'm in 4 the money.

Starting Management salary/pay for McDonald's? Hi.. I've been working at McDonald's for about 2 months now and I asked my store manager "What would it take to become a trainee, the ones that wear red shirts?" She replied "Actually, I wanted to talk to you about joining management." We have a planned time to go in and sit down to go talk about this and the opportunities and work out the details and possibly set this up. I've been searching the internet now for a little bit looking for the benefits of being in management and I've found some neat information but nothing relating too the amount paid. From what I understand, it's a salary job.. not hourly which kinda sucks but there are benefits that counter weight it. Does any one know or have a pretty good idea/close idea to how much a crew member starting management makes? I live in southwest Michigan if that helps at all. The hourly minimum wage is $7.40 before taxes. The site that was linked.. gave me nothing to what I was looking for but thank you.

I am just looking for some insight since I can't call Geico and find out how to make myself a better applicant. (There rejection email implied it) I have 5 plus years experience is several jobs. (no I don't have claims experience but that the point of applying for the trainee position) I have a BA in Political Science from a respected University I have no criminal record, no pending court cases I asked for a salary that is actually lower than market value (I didnt to put one but the computer program made me) My college gpa was slightly below a 3, but I have a good explanation. I would have told them in the interview if I had gotten that far) They are EEO and I didn't put down my race because they said it didn't matter. I didn't even get very far. I applied last night and go rejected today. Not even at least a interview. Any insight?

Career Dilema - Need some help deciding what to do next!? Here is my dilema. I started working as a marine broker after university which I did for 3 years and then left to work in property as to be honest was bored and needed more money. Property was really good but now I'm a sales manager I realise that I really don't want to be in straight sales forever - quite demoralising. So have been looking at other jobs but really need at least £35,000 as live in london and need to pay rent etc. I'm nearly 30 so all the trainee jobs are really lowly paid so can't really afford to do them. I'm not really qualified to do anything (although do have a degree) and having a meldown. Do you know of any good careers that start on good salaries and are varied work etc. I'm seriously hard working and would like something that I can then become qualified in etc if possible. I'm very open about what path to take. all suggestions welcome!

Is this a government run scam by the NHS? The NHS is saving money by using people sent by the job centre on training schemes instead of employing them. After the training is period is up these people are not employed in permenant positions and end up out of a job. They are replaced by new trainees instead. I have been unemployed for nearing 6 months. An ex nurse with administrative qualifications and experience I would love to work in an office job. I have frequently noticed many administrative jobs advertised by th NHS and applied with out success. I recently found out from my job centre advisor that it is pointless applying for these jobs. These jobs are taken up by unemployed people sent to them by the job centre on a training scheme. You get to work for 3 months with the NHS while still claiming benefit and £10 extra for travelling expenses. You do not get a salary. These same jobs keep on being advertised every couple of weeks on the NHS webb site.

Help me make a decision please? ok, so ive been planning on moving to Asia to teach english for the past 6months, i just graduated and spent the summer travelling through europe. because of the cost of travelling i dont have much money left and obviously i need money to go to asia, i have put down a deposit to do a tesol course in thailand in october so i have about 5 weeks to make around £1000 that i need, and im struggling to find work...... I got offered a job today to start as a trainee installing alarm systems the salary aint great its about 13k a year and its away from home so i wouldnt be paying any rent because they pay for your travel expenses and give you food and everything. I still really want to go to thailand because i have thought about nothing else for the past 6 months but obviously the sensible option would be to work for a while to build up some cash and then go. what would you do????????

I have a B.A. in Psychology and need to go back to school and complete 30 semester units of Science courses to complete the requirements in order to become a Health Inspector Trainee. I know working for the county will boost my salary and offer better benefits than my current corporate job. Does anyone know a Health Inspector? What are the ups and downs of becoming one? Is it very difficult (i.e. do they use a lot of Chemistry and Physics on a daily basis?)

On the form that explained the training process, it mentioned that once the training to be a senior optical advisor was complete, that the next step was either a management position or a dispensing optician... What is involved in training to be a dispensing optician? So far I've found a lot of courses (degrees) to be one but nothing about on the job training. Anyone done that? Any dispensing opticians out there who can give me some advice? What is the starting salary? I'm not confusing optician with optometrist. I know that a dispensing optician is trained to dispense and fit glasses. What I'm looking for is someone to tell me some information about it... I've read a job description here http://www.prospects.ac.uk/p/types_of_job/dispensing_optician_job_description.jsp and also read this http://www.gcal.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/p00304.html about a course which trains in dispensing... I'm just a little confused about how you train to be a dispensing optician if you don't go to university, which is what the training schedule suggests
question about fed gov. & unfair job promotion? If the son of a politician, who is a trainee was given a higher salary than a manager of the company simply because his father was friends with the boss, could the federal government do anything about it?

career change confusion? Hi, I am a experienced person in field of maintance working with MNC, total experiance of 3 year. Now I have got a job offer as a R&D Trainee (Electronics) in small company with quite lesser salary. Should I go for it?
Career ideas for an Administration Assistant? I have been working as an Admin Assistant for 2 years and I am really bored of it and feel i am not reaching my potential, looking for some direction. I am not sure what I can do with my 2 years experience, I have been trying to apply for PA jobs, some things a bit more different but I have no luck. I am on rubbish money, I am 21 with 11 A-C GCSE's and A Levels. I turned down positions at Uni cause i wasnt sure what I wanted to study and I want to work normal office hours to spend time with family/friends and my partner who I live with who all have 9-5 jobs. I like working in an office environment and really need a trainee roll in a field such as Human Resources, Project Admin/Management/Contracts Money so I can just have a chance to earn a higher salary, Im not expecting to earn a lot, just a comfortable amount. But I am unsure of what direction to take, what would be right considering the current market, and there are so many courses and am unsure what are the right ones to take. I have no idea what career I would like. I enjoy writing, english is a strength of mine, as opposed to Maths. I am under threat of redundancy at the moment and would really like to find the right job this time round rather than just taking a job because I have to. Anybody have some useful advice?
How much is the salary for a Programmer trainee in the Philippines? I am a fresh grad and am looking for my first job. Since I'm a BS Information Technology graduate, I'm considering a career that will utilize my skills as an IT grad. Being a programmer is one of the major choices I'm considering but I don't have enough guts to become one coz I do think that my skills and knowledge, programming-wise, are still raw. I think that I still have to undergo training. Hence, I think being a Programmer Trainee would benefit me. However, I would like it to be a "job" instead of a "training", if you know what I mean. That's why I am very particular about the salary. I'm targeting around 12K.
Im not sure if these words would fit? 1.the more experience and qualifications you have, the easier it should be to find ....... . Im guessing 'employments'? because its not JOBS. .2. Modern means of transport have made it far easier for manufacturers to ........ productsto their customers. Im guessing distribute' because its not DELIVER. 3.1. Nowadays many companies have a system of performance related pay, and salary increases are linked to an employee's ........... . I have no idea about this one. Because its not ' performance ' or ' Effective output' . 4.Im not a fully qualified accountant yet-im still a ......... . Its not 'intern' or 'auditor ',So im guessing ' Trainee '. Thanks In Advance.

I was asked to write a biography Of Person that I admire So I wrote About Gardner What do u think? My name is Chritopher Gardner. I am rich,a millionaire. In my brokerage firm, I have recently sold a minority share in a multimilion dollars deal. To become what I am now, I had to go through many difficult stages. Stages Of my life that I have never forgotten and I shall never forget, because they are deeply carved in my memory. It all began when I attainted manhood and my mother introduced me to a man who,she said, was my father. How could that man be so, as he had never lived with us?! All I remember about my childhood was that my mother had always been working and struggling to make a living and preserve my safety and stablity. She was determined to raise my social status as an American citizen. Sometimes, I asked her why I did not have a father like all other children; but she never accepted to speak tht thruth. However, shortly after I had met my father for the first time, she told me eerything. She said that my father had deserted us because he had been jobless; and when he had reached a state utter despair to provide for us , he had decided to leave us behind. At that very moment, I decided to obliterate mypast as a desrted child and made up my mond that if I had children, I would givethem a safe and prosperous life. That was the first Part of my life. The second part began when linda and I got married. Ayear afterwards, we had our son, Christopher. We all lived in San Fransisco and our life was rather peaceful. In 1981, I invested our entire lefe saving in buying a new medical device. That was a portable bone-density scanners, a revolutionary machine which, I had throught, would give us too much money and would make us lead aa better life. I bought many scanners of which I had to sell at least two per a month for the rent, the living necessities and our son’s day care. Unfortunately, doctors and hospitals considered that scanner as unnecessary and expensive luxury. Besides that device gave a slightly denser picture than an x-ray the price; the reason why I could not sell all my scanners easily. So, I could not pay tje tax-bills, I could not pay the months of rent we owed and I could not even pay off all of those tickets under my windshield wiper. For my taxes, I had to fike extra extensions; which meant more interests and penalties. Every evening, when i was back home, Linda and I had bitter quarrels over that. I usually begged her to relax and trust me. I even promised her to find a job so as to overcome our hardships. But she didn’t care, and said that she was no longer happy with me. One day, as I was walking along the streets with my scanner in my hand, to do my daily sales calls, I came across a friend of mine. He was well-off and had a brand new Ferrari. I asked him what he did and how he did to have all that; he said that he was stockbroker. Tomy delight, he said that one needed to be good with numbers and good with people. I still remember I couldn’t sleep that night as I couldn’t help thinking of that job, a stockbroker! Why not me?! I felt that I had the right abilities and the strong will necessary to succeed in that career. The morning after, while Linda and I were getting ready to go out, i Told her about that promissing job. She simply laughed at me and ironically asked if I would not bean astronaut. I didn’t care about her and I filled an application form for an internship. I went to Dean Witter Reynolds firm to drop my application off personally and to make acquaintance with the Witter Resource head, Jay wistle. In fact, I wanted to show him thar I was good with numbers and good with people, but at that moment he was bound to take a taxi . Deliberately I shared the same taxi with him. While i was telling him about my intersts and abilities, Jay Wistle was handling a puzzle cube which was called the gift sensation of 1981. He was twisting and turning the cube to get the same color on each side, but unsuccessfully I asked him to let me try, but he said that I would not do it because nobody had done it before. You can’t imagine how astonished he was when I put the cube right on every side; and in no time at all. I am sure, I succeeded to convince him of my intelligence. When I got back home, was disappointed as I found out that my wife had taken all her things and had left home. What made me more furious was that she had taken Christopher with her. In in deed, I was at aloss, but i decided to get my son back as soon as possible. While i was thinking about that, the telephone rang. It was Jay wistle from dean witter who asked me to be in the firm as quickly as possible to sit for an interview. The following day, a series of misfortunes coincided to ovrerturn my life. After I had got christopher back, I wore some shabby clothes and began painting my apartment while I was doing that, the land lord knock at the door to tell me that I did not pay for the four months of rent I owed, he would kick me out. Shortly afterwards, two policemen came and arrested me for failure to pay off the parking tickets. I had to spend the night at the police station because they did not believe me when I gave them a check with the sun of money I owned, they said they had to give a call to linda to take care of christopher. The following morning, just as they had done their verification, I left the police station . It was exactly quarter to ten, and I had to run all the way to Dean Witter where I had to take an Interview at quarter past ten, of course all in m shabby clothes full of paint. To convince the interviewers of the reason why I was dressed like that I spoke, nothing but the thruth. They laugheda bit, but they admired my frankness, earnestness and diligence. I was accepted as a trainee and they gave me a sheet where all the program was explained. In fact the program took every six mouths, and only one intern was hired at the end of the program from a pool of twenty. However, if you weren’t that lucky one, you could not even apply for the six mouths training to another brokerage. Although they didn’t give salaries to trainees, I was firmly determined to go ahead, as I had developped a strong ambition about that career. The only resource I had for the six months were my six scanners ,which I still tried to sell. Meanwhile, my son and I moved to a motel because I could not pay for the rent. I also had to look after my christopher since the moment his mother had left us and had gone to New york to seek a better life. At dean Witter, we were twenty interns we were asked to call the maximum of companies and convince them to be potential clients. We had to use all our abilities to familiarize them with our packages . We had to match their needs and goals to one of firm’s many financial plans. In other words as the number of calls increases, the number of dollars in the firm’s pocket also increases. So, who ever brought in the most money after six mouths was usually hired . All the interns worked till seven , but I had to leave at four to pck up Christopher . So, I ha to do in six hours what they had to do in nine. In order not to waste any time I was not hanging up the phone inn between calls and I realized that by doing that I gained another ten minutes a day. Besides, I didn’t drink any water so I didn’t waste anytime in the bathroom. During four months, every thing seemed to go as we wished. Everyday, I took Christopher to the daycare before I went tomy internship. At four, I picked him up and we both did our daily sales calls of the scanners till we sold them all. Sometimes, I took Christopher to play basketball, and all the time I gave him such advices as one should have a strong will and should struggle to achieve one’s goal in life. Actually, we were happy as father and son. As I had said before, everything seemed to go fine till one day, that day when a letter brought me back to earth. It was about taxes I had to pay, and if I didn’t pay them the governement would stick their hands into my bank account and take all my money. What a disaster! The governement took all the money that I had. I still remember That day, there was only twenty one dollars and thirty tree cents left in my bank account, Iwas completly broke. Consequencly, I was unable to pay for the motel, so we had to leave it and we became homless. Christopher and I were once forced to spend a night in a public bathroom. We tried other places such as Glide Memorial, a church where we had to share a dormitory with hundreds of homless persons. So,I learned to finish my work quickly if I wanted to find a spot at glide where to spend the night. I even went to a blood center and sold my blood for twenty six dollars. I bought a light bulb which was needed to repair the scanner I had once lost and luckily found with tramp who took it for a time machine. I sold the scanner for two hundred and fifty dollars which meant four weeks of oxygen. We spent that night at a hotel instead of going back to the church place. Two days afterwards, while I was working as usual, I was called to the chairman’s office. There he announced the most exciting news I had ever heard in my life: I was the one they had chosen for the job. Yes, I was the who had it. I shall never forget that moment when I burst into tears, tears Of happiness I had been pursuing for a long time. My life began to change positively since the moment I took that job. During all the years I was working in Dean Witter, I was devoting my income to the upkeep and improvement of my career. In 1987, I founded the investment firm Gardner Rich, My own brokeragefirm where my winning are now exceeding millions of dollars.

how Secure is my job as a SEO.? The reason for this question is that .. i never thought that i will land as a SEO recently as a trainee, almost a year and a half ago, when i started a blog of my interest just to broadcast my research on internet. then learned about ad revenues that really dint interest me , then felt of making my blog show on the first page of google/yahoo ..slowly learned the trics and the system, i did all this as a hobby , then after completing my engineering in E&C , in the recession period i started looking for job unfortunately dint get one .. atlast got a call from a company a small firm , and joined as a SEO with a very low salary, and now when im going throug the trainning .. I am concerned about the future of SEO .. I dnt want to end up in a mess and ruin my career as im not sure about SEO future , can any one give me ur suggestion ... I
Oilfield Career - Am I selling myself short? Hey I recently graduated in engineering and joined a prominent oilfield services company. I've been a very good student and my resume looks pretty good. This was pretty much the second company to offer me a job and I couldn't bother going for more interviews, so I just took the job. Initially it looked good, the salary was above average and there was the really attractive field bonus. But now, I've realised that other companies pay a lot more for the same job, and I've yet to see any of that field bonus, since they say trainees aren't eligible for it. My seniors are advising me to be patient and get through a couple of years after which they claim I will reap the benefits, but I'm getting tired of the hard physical work that I'm not being paid all I should be for. I do enjoy the work, it's challenging and fun, but can't get rid of the nagging feeling that I can do better. Should I stay put and count my blessings or go for greener pastures? Wow thanks for all the great advice guys! I really didn't expect this sincere a response :) I think the general consensus is that since I am at such an early stage of my career, I am better off progressing as much as I can in my current job and it looks like I'm only a few months away from my field bonus... so I'll stick it out and see where it takes me :)
Some funnies for you, enjoy!? The job! Reaching the end of a job interview, the Human Resources Person asked a young Engineer fresh out of Texas A&M, "And what starting salary were you looking for?" The Engineer said, "In the neighbourhood of $125,000 a year, depending on the benefits package." The interviewer said, "Well, what would you say to a package of 5 weeks vacation, 14 paid holidays, full medical and dental, a company matching retirement fund for 50% of your salary, and a company car leased every 2 years -- say, a red Corvette?" The Engineer sat up straight and said, "Wow! Are you kidding?" And the interviewer replied, "Yeah, but you started it." The gas company! Two gas company servicemen, a senior training supervisor, and a young trainee, were out checking meters in a suburban neighbourhood. They parked their truck at the end of the alley and worked their way to the other end. At the last house, a woman watched the two men from her kitchen window as they checked her gas meter. When they had finished the meter check, the senior supervisor challenged his younger co-worker to a foot race back to the truck to prove that an older guy could outrun a younger one. The co-worker accepted the challenge. As they approached the truck in full stride, the two men realized that the lady from the kitchen window was huffing and puffing right behind them. They stopped in their tracks and asked the woman why she was running behind them. Gasping for breath, she replied, "I'm not stupid... when I see two gas men running that fast, I figure I'd better run too!"

Now I am selected in a MNC as trainee management in marketing department but it is not door to door marketing and salary is high I am also interested in this and I think I do well there also But I m confused where to go programming side or management side? My schooling was not in English medium but 4 years of graduation was in english and I think I can speak well and during training get command over it.
