Jobs for graduate Vocational Nurses in the houson area? I don't have my license but i have graduated. Do you know of any jobs that take GRADUATE VOCATIONAL NURSES? Graduate nursing jobs? I will be graduating in May 2010 from a nursing RN program in Houston, TX and plan on taking the NCLEX as soon as possible after graduating. I hear talks about internships but I do not have a clue about how to go about finding a job or an internship. When I look online for jobs at the hospital systems, all they offer are jobs are licensed RN with at least a year experience. Help please. I have no clue where to start.
Nursing Graduate Jobs? I'm going to be graduating nursing school in May, and as much as everyone has been saying there's a nursing shortage, no hospitals in my state are hiring. Does anyone know of a spot in Labor and Delivery, or something related, such as Mother/Baby, NBN or NICU that are hiring new, graduate nurses? A lot of places require at least one year experience, which, obviously I do not have. I don't care to relocate, and I've tried job search companies and google searches...both have proved fruitless. Any help would be much, much appreciated. I'm definitely open to moving or relocating. I understand that as a new graduate, I don't get to be picky, but I want to get my midwifery license eventually, and it seems like everywhere requires one year of experience in labor and delivery to get a job in labor and delivery...it just seems like a catch-22. I just want to try to find an area somewhat related to what I eventually want to continue on to, but I'm just not sure if that's possible.
Whatever happened to the recession-proof nurse jobs? I recently graduated from nursing school and successfully passed NCLEX. I started looking around for jobs and have been told over and over again by different agencies, hospitals and nursing homes that they need a minimum of 1-2 yrs of experience. So who will give me the experience? I have also been told that the nurses with 1-2 yrs of experience are having problems finding jobs too! Is the Chicago healthcare industry that saturated and they don't need nurses here?
Should I apply for jobs without a GN license? I recently graduated nursing school and I am waiting for the nursing board for my state to make my GN license active (it's currently pending). Should I start applying for graduate nursing jobs even though my GN license is still pending?
How do I get a nursing job in London as a newly graduate RN? I am a newly graduating nurse with a RN license, who wants to live in London, England (yes I know about the lower pay grade for RNs....) Can't Find A Job, About To Graduate From Nursing School? First, let me say that I'm so frustrated with people talking about how nursing jobs are easy to find. A lot of the hospitals are looking for experienced nurses, not new graduates. Any advice or tips? Thanks
I am a new graduate registered nurse, where can I get this much needed one year of experience? Hi, I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I graduated nursing school in April of 2009. I have been applying for job after job, with no results. Everybody seems to want at least a year of experience, even nursing homes! I don't seem to understand where I am supposed to work if nursing homes are asking me for one year of experience. I can't even get any interviews. Can somebody please help me?
Jobs available for non licensed nursing graduates? I am a graduate with a BS in nursing. What types of jobs are available with this degree if I choose not to pursue my license? I am a stay at home mom, and would love to stay in the medical field, but don't necessarily want to be a nurse anymore. I want to still be available to my kids. Are there any jobs that I can do with just my degree?

New Graduate Nurse, hate my nursing home job, dread work? I am a new graduate ADN RN, I am working in a nursing home and hate it, vowed I'd never work in one but it's the only place that called me back after 1000+ applications. I want to get my BSN but am already exhausted and have to work to survive. I am seriously depressed and alone, I hate my job, have no friends in a new city, and miss my family. Moving home is not an option and I have no other job opportunities. I feel like just quitting nursing but after working so long for that degree and license I am just devastated. The workload is too much, I feel inadequate, like I make mistakes, like I am going to ruin my life, and I am so unhappy. I can't afford counseling, though I do feel like I have nothing to look forward to for the rest of my life. What should I do? Please help.
Should a new graduate nurse list non-healthcare work experience? I just graduated as an LPN and I'm embarking on my job hunt. While working on my resume though, I feel like I'm coming up short, having only a license to go on and no work experience in the industry. Does anyone have any tips on ways to make an attractive resume for an entry-level position?

Like when you apply to nursing jobs, what do they really look at and will they deny me just cause I only have a diploma in nursing?

Jobs for newly graduated nurses? I will be starting nursing school very soon and have been looking for jobs in Virginia and Ohio. I wanted to be a nurse for a number of reasons but one of them happened to be because of the demand and shortage. I have been looking for RN postings in VA and OH and am getting discouraged because I see that under the requirements for some positions, at least 1 years experience is needed. I am worried that when I graduate, a hospital or doctor will not want to take the chance on me because I have no experience, thus how am I to get this "experience" if no one is willing to let me gain any? Do new nurses have a lot of trouble finding a position because they lack experience? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

While going to college to be an OB nurse must I do clinicals in other areas? I just graduated high school and am looking to get my degree to become an OB nurse. The thing is, I am not at all interested in doing any other nursing jobs. Like working in the ER, with really sick patients, etc. When doing clinicals you have to move to a bunch of different floors don't you? Also if you are currently an OB nurse how did you deal with going through nursing school? Any info helps! Thanks. :)
Where's the best place for a freshly graduated nurse to immigrate to? Someone with a nursing degree holds a pretty strong chance of getting a job in most countries. I'm from the UK and getting pretty sick of the way things are here, it's going down hill fast, and the rediculous costs in this country, we pay about $10-11 US Dollars for a gallon of fuel. Where do you think is the best place to move to for a male, graduate nurse? A few years ago, I'd have seriously considered the US, but I'm not so sure now. The US is going downhill pretty fast too, and their just on the verge of a serious economic crisis, I'm not really sure if this is the best time to go to the US. They're experiencing problems that pretty much mirror that of the UK, going to the US would kinda be like running back into the problems I'm trying to escape from. I've seriously considered New Zealand, as the country is roughly the same size as the UK, yet with a much lower population, it's mind-bogling how the UK has 60 million people packed into it, and NZ has 4 million to a land-mass the size of the UK. The available space and feeling of freedom must be incredible. NZ also seems like less of a big jump in culture from the UK. The scenary is very similar to the UK, just a lot more of it, and culturally, they're closer to Britian than America or Australia is. However, the thing which worries me largely is the fairly low wages, and comparitively high living costs in New Zealand, it worry I might find it hard to make ends meet in New Zealand. I've also considered Canada, as it basically seems like a better run version of America (no offence to the American people indented), I visited in the summer, and although the weather seemed pleasent then, the harsh winters really put me off. Also, I've considered somewhere closer to home, like another European country, but the problem is, the language barrier. Would I get a job in a European hospital without speaking the language, obviously, I would make a big effort to learn the language, but do you think they'd offer me a job while I was learning the language? Oh, decisions, decisions, there are so many great places which offer opportunities, but moving anywhere is such a big commitment, but the UK really is going downhill. The NHS is in a mess, immigration and violence caused by unskilled immigrants is out of control, and no, I'm not a racist (as many British people accuse you of being), but just sick of seeing all the jobs in this country go to unskilled immigrants when we have our own youth to be engaging and employing. If this country cared about it's own youth a bit more instead of costantly employing foreigners to do meanial work then maybe the crime rate would drop, and the UK would become a better place to live.
Nurses I work with hate their job, should I be worried about hating my job when I graduate nursing school? ? I am a third year nursing student and I graduate soon. I work at a local hospital as a nurse tech and I love it there. The only problem is I have come across very few nurses who enjoy being a nurse. It makes me worry about my job as a nurse in the future. Recently a nurse I work with told me she is putting her daughter through nursing school, and another nurse overheard and said "what did you tell her to become a nurse for", and the nurse replied with "because she's an idiot." Constant complaints over money, patients, and whatnot. Is it worth being a nurse!! Any RNs reading this please comment on this.
I'm a new graduate from nursing school in the San Francisco Bay Area and I can't find a job, any suggestions? I'm graduating in May 2007, and because of the immense amount of nursing students graduating at the same time, there are no jobs available. Also there are a lot of nurses being pumped out from one year nursing schools and there are many nurses coming in from out of state because of the high wages in the bay area which makes it hard for new graduates to find hospitals willing to train them. If anybody knows of a resource to help, please let me know.
Is it true that if your are a graduate of "Hotel and Restaurant Management," it is difficult to find jobs? I am taking this course and I'm confused if I would continue taking it or shift from nursing or bs psychology. I chose bs psychology for I would like to be a doctor yet they say it is difficult to find a job for this course. I chose nursing for it is in demand which leds me to more job oppurtunities. The problem is I like HRM and bs pyschology for they interest me; nursing is not really my interest but I'm willing to take it for a good salary.
Graduate nurse, soon to be working in the PICU... what should I do to prepare myself? I'm 22 and will be graduating w/ my BSN in May. I will be taking the NCLEX-RN board exam in late June or July (have to do it then, or else I would do it earlier), so I know I will have to be preparing for that. I wanted to work in regular pediatrics, then go into the PICU once I became more experienced, but I was placed in the PICU (likely because of my grades). There are two other graduate nurses going into the PICU at the same time as me. I know the children are going to be very sick and possibly die, families are going to be very worried and stressed out, and that it is going to be a difficult, but rewarding, job. Most of my schooling has focused on adult medical-surgical knowledge and we had one semester of pediatrics. I have a huge book by Wong, but I'd like to know other resources (books, sites, etc.) to used for pediatric values and illnesses. Any advice or help would be great! I'm excited about my career, but very nervous. Thanks! :)

Does anyone know about nursing jobs that pay off student loans? I am graduating from a 2 yr nursing program and have no student loans. I just got a job at the VA and will probably need a loan for the spring semester. Does anyone know if your job will pay off any student loan debt will it effect your bonus if you get one? And if they pay off student loan debt is it only a one time thing, just when hired, after this year want to continue my education and get my BSN and know that I will need student loans!! THANKS

I have searched on the internet and haven't been able to find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Which is a better career, nurse practitioner or physicians assistant? I am considering going back to school to become a nurse practitioner (a Masters program that allows non-nurses to get their RN and then MSN) or going to a Physicians Assistant program, also a Masters. I think I can get into the NP program but iffy on my chances of getting into the PA program. Does anybody have advice on which direction I should choose and why? I am looking at Wisconsin's Marquette's Graduate School of Nursing and a PA program in Illinois at Rosalind Franklin University. Anybody familiar with either of those programs? I see a lot of jobs overlapping for PA or NP but I want to be respected by MD's/DO's and I am not sure how they feel about NP's over PA's. Thanks for your input. (By the way, my over GPA is a 3.1 and my science GPA is a 3.3) I have not taken the GRE yet.
